Gosh! I just love this - so glad you have shared your story with us please send

" updates " as you go along.

enjoy your child

Terri (NZ)

[ ] I'm so happy :)

Hi Moria,

Hi everybody,

My name is Valentina and I live in Arad, Romania. My son Denis (3 yo)

was diagnosed a month ago as being autistic. Well... like many of your

kids probably, he was perfectly normal in his first year of life, but

after that... UFF!! I kind of lost him :( And I want him back!

I'm not exactly new to this list but I didn't really have something to

say so far, so... I didn't want to give you junk to read. (I know how

many of you wish for a 35 hours day :))LOL me too!)

Anyway, the reasons I want to write something now... are two.

First, I wanted to thank you all! You are all so great! Absolutely

wonderful people! I have no idea what I would have done if I didn't

find this group, and if I didn't have all your experiences and advices

to learn from. Thank you Moria again, Andy, , everybody! All your

advices and all your work to maintain this group are really great! I've

learned so much lately... When I first heard about chelation I said to

myself that I could never be able to do something like this, from a lot of

reasons, and one of them would be because doctors here are not helping

much... actually they don't help at all... They don't know ANYTHING about

mercury being connected with autism, they never heard about thimerosal being

used in vaccines. I talked about this so far with three of them, and none

seemed like they had any idea about what I'm talking. One of them even

called me crazy :)

And another reason why I thought I couldn't chelate my son by myself

(I would have done it without doctors) I knew there is no way I could

have some analyses done for him... NO LAB in this whole country would

do a hair analyze! or a blood analyze to check mercury levels. The only

available test I found, was some analyze for copper in blood. And that was

at a price.... UFF!! Listening you talking about all those tests that I

never heard of... UFF! The sad part is that the labs here never heard of

them.

Anyway, I do have the courage now to chelate Denis even without

doctors and without the proper analyses because I have all your

experience, and because I know there is no other way!

Oh! I forgot to say that also, we don't have (in this city) some

special schools for these kids. Any kind of special education. I would

have been thankful if I could have found some place where I can take

him, any kind of kindergarten. But no kindergarten wanted to get him,

because they said " he is too weird " .... long story :)

So again, chelation was the only option for us!

So I asked a friend of mine from the States to buy and send me some

ALA. (I couldn't find this either here. or Chemet)

So, the second reason I wanted to write this email for, is because

today, me and Denis started chelation. Amazing, but I've seen the

changes in the first 2-3 hours! (I gave him 10mg ALA with each dose.

he is 37 lbs.)

First of all, he is echolalic and apraxic :( He would never repeat

words after me. Only from tv or radio. But this morning I asked him if

he is playing and he repeated exactly my words! And I could even

understand them!

And anyway, all day he repeated words after me... and he talked all

day! I am so sorry I cannot understand what he says...

But now he calls me " maiiii " :)

Another great thing, he didn't cry, yell, rolled on the floor, all

day! Not even once! This is so incredible for me :) I got so used to

his tantrums :)

When we went out for a walk, he looked at the people, buildings... It

was so amazing :) I felt like for the first time in my life I am out

with Denis :) He was always so absent...

We went to a friend of mine, because I wanted somebody to tell me that

I'm not dreaming :) Well, this friend of mine never heard Denis

speaking before. But this time, we went in there and Denis started to

talk and he talked and talked :)) And it was not just the talking

part. He was so active, so " with us " ! My friend was so amazed...

So I wasn't dreaming :) The changes were really that obvious :)

Oh! something else Denis did today...

He always hated those Lego games... But I kept buying them, because I

liked them :)) Well, today my Denis, for the first time in his life,

wanted to play with them. He built some small things... It was still

something lined up :) But there were blocks of three or four pieces

put together :)

Right now he is singing in front of the tv :))

I can't believe this change! It's like I finally have a kid :) This is

so great! I am so happy!! I hope this miracle will last :)

But I guess even if it will end tomorrow, I am still happy, because at least

now I know chelation really works for Denis.

Oh! In all this happiness, I forgot to say that I actually had an

unpleasant experience too :) Denis started to hit me :) LOL

At first I thought he's playing or something, but I realized that he

wasn't. I calmed him down with some good hugs though :)

So... what else can I say... I am so happy :) I wanted to share this

with you, because none of these would have been possible without your

help. I hope I will not have problems in the future, and I really hope

chelation works for everybody!

Thank you again so much!!

Have a really great evening

Valentina

Hi Valentina :)

I am so happy to see you posting something here so everyone can

" meet you " .

All,

I have been " talking " to Valentina on another list -- for a

very short time-- maybe a week or two? And have found her sooooo

inspiring. Not sure which part exactly it is that is so

inspiring -- I guess really it is all of it! the whole thing!

If ALA brings such immediate relief you might try feeding him lots of

sulfury foods. He may be low in them.

Hi Andy,

Hi everybody,

Thank you for your advice. I really appreciate it. I will try to give

Denis the foods you mentioned and see what's happening. Also,

somebody told me about some sulfury water... I guess I will try that

too if I will find it.

I have to say though that from all the things I've read trying to

understand about the chemistry of the body and about what's happening

in there during chelation, one thing that it's kind of difficult for

me to make up my mind about is if Denis has a sulfur deficiency or

not. My impression if that he does, but I just wish I could be sure if

it's the lack of sulfur the problem, or the body's inability to

process it (and it just gets rid of it).

(or in this case it would still be considered low in sulfur and I

would have to give him sulfury foods...? I don't know)

I am not sure if all my information about this are correct, because

I've read too many things from too many places, trying to cover the

missing pieces, and compare with the things I know about Denis, but

I'm still not sure about it...

It would be great to be able to do a plasma cysteine, but... nobody

here heard about something like this. Is there any other test I could

ask about?

If you could tell me please some of the symptoms that are usually

associated with lack of sulfur in the body... and also with excess of

it.... (Or maybe somebody else could help me... I would really

appreciate it.) Or better, maybe you could direct me to some reliable

places where I could read about these things... (I got tired searching

the internet for this subject and finding stuff about flowers and

horses :) I've read those too though)

I guess it would help to make an idea if I will tell you that Denis

has the purple circles under the eyes (sometimes they look pretty

bad), also he is hyper (especially in the evenings), his urine

sometimes smells too strong (maybe it's my imagination here), also

(not sure how important this is) his nails are... thin? (I can't find

a better word) they are not strong, firm; and they grow pretty slow...

his skin is rough, like the skin of a mature person.

On the other hand, he is really tall. He was always a lot taller than

the other kids at his age. But he is skinny and his muscles are so

soft... it's a really strange feeling when you touch him. like a soft

sponge maybe...

Also, there is something weird about the way he walks or run. He

sometimes does it like he just learned how to, like he just started to

walk. I'm not sure how relevant these things are for telling if a

person could be low in sulfur, but I've read something somewhere about

how the lack of sulfur results in degeneration of collagen, cartilage,

ligaments, and tendons and I was wondering...

I tried to find some kind of salt with sulfate, so I can test it and

see how Denis reacts, but unfortunately until now I wasn't able to

find anything. Also I tried to find and buy some Taurine or NAC or

MSM, but again, no luck :) I just can't find them in the pharmacies

here. Not sure why.

Anyway, please let me know if there is a way to tell if Denis really

has a sulfur deficiency from the things I told you...

Thank you very much for all your help!

Hi Jeri,

Thanks for the information, but I know how to find places on the internet

who sell lots of things. My problem is that I don't have the necessary tools

to pay for them. We don't have credit cards here and also, I would prefer to

buy something loco, because it would be much cheaper. I mean I am talking

about a HUGE difference.

But, if this would be my only option, if I would really need to buy those

things from somewhere out of my country, let's say I could do something

about it (in case I won't have any other choice), but I was trying first to

make sure (if possible) that this is indeed my problem.

Thanks a lot for the info anyway :)

I have to say we chelated my son for 9 months, I stopped when I noticed the corn

in DMSA was making him nutty & aggressive. THIS is our first weekend chelating

again in 2 months, AND MY SON WAS SO VERBAL & EXPRESSIVE today (ONLY ALA

chelating) Can I use ALA everyday??? Or do I still need to give him off time for

his liver? If I do use it every day, can I do 8 hours sometimes? (As waking him

every 4 on weekend is fine, but on school days, not good) I am AMAZED at how he

acts once again on ALA!-Shari

Epsom salt is generally sold in the first aid section here and marketed as a

remedy for sore muscles. They usually sell it in carboard cartons like milk

cartons.

Elsewhere they may package it and market it differently.
