C-phone is slang for connections phone which are used to dial into dictation systems to hear the dictation. Some look like phones, some little buttons with a keypad, it just depends on the company. A foot pedal and head phones attach to it, some have external speakers as well in case you need someone to help you with an extra pair of ears.
