Guest guest
Hi, My husband was diagnosied with Medullary THC a year ago. He had massive surgery where they opened his sternum and removed 63 nodes 39 wer positive for cancer. They cut him from ear to ear and removed his thyroid and 2 tumors. He had 39 radiation treatments . We just recently found out that radiation did no good. His calcitonin before surgery was 25,0000 after surgery dropped to 8,000. Since his last radiation treatment it has risen to 11,000. He recently had another PET scan and it showed nothing. My question is this, has anyone else had this cancer & why does it not show up? Its there because the calcitonin is rising. Our Dr is lost and does not know what step to take next . You may email me personally if you like at SadBlueE@... or through the group is fine. Thanks much Lost In Wisconsin !! Guest guest
Very sorry for your situation. I don't know anything about this type of thyroid cancer. I believe there is a special group you can subscribe to with all anaplastic and medullary cancers? Maybe someone will help by sending an e-mail address.
