Guest guest
Hello all, Today my doctor recommended the thyca.org website, where I found this support group. I am so glad! Thank you all for being here. A bit about me...I was diagnosed two years ago at age 30 with papillary. I had a complete thyroidectomy because the cancer had already spread throughout the entire capsule and to two lymph nodes. Since then I have had RAI twice, the first time just under " house arrest " and the second time in hospital isolation. I am about to go hypo again (yay) because my thyroglobulin has stayed put at 5.6 for the past year and my doctor wants to see if he wants to do another RAI. So my first question is, how truly bad is it for the thyroglobulin level to just stay at the same number? I mean, I almost laughed at my doctor when he said that if I didn't get this resolved, it could come back to haunt me " in the next 50 years. " I wanted to say I had a better chance of being killed just driving back to work. Anyway, anyone else out there had a thyroglobulin level that just wouldn't go down to zero? What did you do about it? Amy Wang Manning Portland, OR P.S. Anyone in this group live in the Pacific Northwest?
