Guest guest Posted October 31, 2001 Report Share Posted October 31, 2001 Hi everyone. I am new to the group. My name is Vicki. I had a myo last December to remove two fairly large fibroids. I have one large fibroid that is growing into the uterine muscle on the outside of my uterus about the same size as my uterus itself. I've been told that this one can't be separated from my uterus. I've been on birth control ever since to control the heavy bleeding, but I'm starting to bleed more and more every month. I'm down to about 1 and a half weeks of freedom every month. When I'm on my 'off' week, I have terrible headaches from the drop in estrogen levels. I've got an appointment with my doctor next Tuesday to discuss the options. I've heard of uterine ablation from my research, but my doctor has never mentioned it to me. Has anyone had this procedure done? Either by laser or balloon? I'm about to the end of my rope!
