Guest guest
, I have a question I have been meaning to ask a VV dr. When I was diagnosed by Dr. Goetche about three years ago, she said that one theory she has (paraphrasing here of course) about the cause of vestibulitis is that in-utero there is a " mistake " (my word) when the fetus is forming and introital (inside) tissue is formed on the vestibule instead of ...um... extroital? (outside) tissue. So you have super sensitive tissue on the outside. (This theory spurred me into surgery, which she suggested on my first visit. I had both POC and constant vestibular pain at that time. The surgery didn't work.) I wonder what you think of this theory, if you have heard it before, if other drs believe it etc... I do not expect you to make a judgement about Dr. Goetche. Just the theory. Thanks!!! Also, do you know of anyone who is working on a book about vulvodynia? Just curious.
