You mentioned "mild-appearing disease" talking about CF so I'm wondering if you mean CF can be mild? What are the symptoms of CF?

I know you do, and it was a great inspiration to let to know that I know of a lovely lady who has all the things she has, and more, and has led such a wonderful and fulfilling life and continues to do so, in her 60's! Funny thing is her hubby also has MS! (ok, not funny ha-ha, funny strange)

Peace and Blessings

Akiba, I have that as well; mine is definitely related to cystic fibrosis; my eldestsister had type I diabetes; what we with CF get is sort of in-between types I and II, but more like I. Such fun! Thanks for the explaination! I like that "multiple surprises" x0x0x0 Shirleyn Rojas wrote: rs do tend to run in families; and if two carriers of several mutations marry or have children, the chance of their having a cf child is one in four with each pregnancy.

Unfortu nately, often in a family, many have died before the mystery is resolved, when SOMEONE is finally diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. In my clan, it is RAMPANT, and now we can know as genetic testing is possible, and even relatively mild-appearing disease can be caught early and treatment begun early. My guess is that this is true of many families and conjoint families, if only they knew it. rs of this condition are so common that no one can agree on HOW common, but it does take TWO carriers to produce a baby with CF; it happens when the sperm and the egg first mate--regardless of when diagnosis fianlly happens. I was fortunate to be diagnosed at birth. Thank you so much for asking. MS is fairly common among older CF survivors as well, though the hereditary and environ mental features are still quite confusing. A physical therapist who was working with me after my joint replacements actually asked me, "How can you POSSIBLY have CF and MS?" It took me a moment, and then I said, "The ONE does NOT vaccinate against the OTHER!" She looked stunned. The next day, I had a different
