Guest guest
Well now, Trista, if someone did make a rude comment, you rev that cart up and run 'em over full speed. Then feign apologies, you just don't know how that happened, you're still getting the hang of it, and oh by the way what weas it you said to me... mbwahhahaha My Mother has gotten much better at her cart'in. She did run into a display or several, which my Sis-in-law just loved being present for. LOL Poor . LOL I don't stand too near those carts, whether it's Mom driving or not. It is always fun when she's driving though. Keeps me on my toes! So what if you run into things a few times at first (or later)... and if someone is crass enough to think poorly of you driving a cart, or to make rude comments, then they're not someone whose opinion you cared about anyway. Run em over! HUGS, Challis Trista wrote: I sometimes really need to use the carts, but haven't had the guts to yet. I am such a clumsy person. DH calls me "Grace" a lot. I'm afraid to ride them, because I might run into stuff. I am also worried that someone will be rude and make a stupid comment, and will embarrass me. If I feel too weak to walk, or dizzy and stumble, I just stay home. But, that is really getting old. I think I need to "take the plunge", and just try one. I hate being in prison in my own home. I think I need a little more of your spunky attitude Akiba. When I hit my 30's, I acquired a new spunky tude, and dropped the meek crap. I seem to care less what people think, the older I get. LOL. I bet Robbin has fun on the cart with you. : ) Trista Re: (was)Takes the Cake (now) Akiba's fall & things lost to MS use the motorized carts!!!! Guest guest
I wasn't going to mention that, Challis. But since you let the cat out of the bag I'll tell what happened. I ran into an end display of cans of something. Then rolled across to the checkout, down the aisle and all the way in front of the customer service desk, past the plants and into the produce department. Everyone was running to gather them up. I was mortified! But my poor daughter-in-law was even more mortified than I was. She gets embarrassed really easily anyway and I've done it to her a lot. If you run over displays or people just smile and say "oh I am SO sorry" and go on about your happy little way..... because you are conserving your energy for what matters. Guest guest
And! Why do they have those stupid displays right in the MIDDLE of the aisles? Don’t they realize there are people using those carts? Geesh!! How about trying to do some clothes shopping and getting stuck in between the clothing racks! Good thing there is a reverse on them. lol…. I loved riding on the carts. As long as it was charged, but so many times there was barely enough gas in them to get me across the room. I could walk faster than that! And I do not walk fast at all,………think of a turtle……ha, ha…BUT……….when they were charged…..WATCH OUT, here comes Parnelli Hanan!! ;-) Fond memories from,  Jackie  From: MSersLife [mailto:MSersLife ] On Behalf Of Sharon Marsden Sent: Thursday, August 17, 2006 6:46 PM To: MSersLife Subject: Re: Take to the carts (was: (was)Takes the Cake (now) Akiba's fall & things lost to MS) I wasn't going to mention that, Challis. Guest guest
Jackie, our stores don't even have enough room to get a shopping cart down! I wonder how I'd deal with a riding cart. Guest guest
One time in walmart my cart ran out of juice, at the far end of the store, of course...so Robbin grabbed the basket and pulled, we went down the isles like that with me making whipping movements and shouting "Mush!!!Mush!!" Now you want amazed and amused looks... LOL You haven't done that since, right? I figure it's all part of the process. And it's okay. Even if it doesn't feel like it at the moment. Me? If I should ever need a cart, I'm running over people. On purpose. <weg> Maybe I'll just chase my kids through the store, threatening to run them over. They'd like like!
