Guest guest
, Probiotics are a class of bacteria that is good. This include Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifido Bacterium also known as Bifidus. These bacteria help to maintain the flora balance in the body, and in the GI track, they also help to digest the food and produce some vitamins. They are essential to life, though some people choose to ignore the evidence. Guest guest
Hi Allan, I saw Dr. Weiss (and his PT) in San Francisco for myofascial release. He has written a few articles on this treatment as a necessary component of a holistic vv program (theory is along the lines of Glazer's theory). You may have read his articles already, but if not, let me know. It was presented as a means of breaking the feedback loop that perpetuates the pain of vv-in other words, relief. Sometimes he used topical anesthetic mixed with lubricant. Big emphasis on breathing during the treatment. I don't know if this answered your question. Jill Question << File: ATT00002.html >> To those of you who have had deep internal muscle release done to you, a question How do you stand the pain? The pelvic floor and pyriformis muscles are often very, very tender Most women almost jump or cry with pain when the muscles are touched. I explain during the limited pelvic that I do that these muscles ( and I touch them) are quite sore and could be treated by release etc. Most think that it would be painful How is it done or presented to you? A colleague of mine in Calgary does local anaesthetic block and then sends to a physio immediately for stretching etc How are you able to tolerate the pain Allan
Guest guest
What would happen when he found a painful muscle? Well, that indicated that the muscle needed work (was contracted and needed to relax). In fact the whole goal of treatment seemed to be: " Let's find the painful spots! " All he did was to keep gentle finger pressure on the tight spot and hold it there until finally, it would release. Sometimes it did hurt a lot. Interesting that you mention Botox. I am friends with an ex-boyfriend who is an anesthesiologist. He now works for a neurological pharmaceutical company, so he is familiar with botox. He suggested that it might be a way to prevent/ alleviate pelvic muscle spasm. I asked Dr. Weiss about it, and his response was: not a good idea. The muscles are already damaged from chronic contraction, and botox paralysis would further weaken them. The goal according to him is to strengthen the muscles and bring them under voluntary control. Jill Re: Question << File: ATT00001.html >> Suppose he found a tight painful muscle, eg levator. Would it hurt if he persisted in massaging it Has anyone seen BoTox used here? My patients who might benefit all have a lot of pain. Have you had it. Did it hurt? Allan
Guest guest
--- Hi : If this new problem is in any way related to a w/c claim then go to the er,give them your w/c#.They will call your claims adjuster to get permission to give you medical treatment. This will cover all the bases for you and you will know up-front if you or the w/c carrier is responsible.Good luck and I'm sorry to hear of the painful turn of events. Guest guest
Theresa, You might want to call the pharmicist and see if it could be a medication interaction or a side effect from a med you are taking. Guest guest
Thanks cookie and others who have tried to help me. Went to go and pick up my medication script today at the doctors office and told them again about the headaches. Now a nurse is supposed to call me sometime here. I have been wondering if it's my medications or migraines also. I will try the ice pack deal when it acts up again and see if it helps. If I don't have an ice pack would a cold wash cloth work for now do ya think? Another thing that they changed at my doctors office is when I have an appointment to pick up my pain script medicine, the medical assistant talks to you and fills out the script and they charge 10 dollars for this now! Unreal! I think that is a lot of bullcrap if you ask me. I mean it's not like we are made out of money. We are barely getting by anymore and now they charge ten dollars just to get your script! What is this world coming to ya know. I think that is just taking advantage of people that are already suffering enough. What do you all think? I am mad about the new arrangement at the doctors office/pain clinic. Gee, what next?? Thanks for hearing me out everyone. I am glad that I can post here and vent. :-) I need to do this more often other than keeping it all inside. -Hugs, Theresa
Guest guest
Hi Theresa I have been plagued with migraines my entire life and have passed them onto my daughter. Because they come at any time (especially when I have eaten a tiny bit to much chocolate <g>) I alwasys keep a wet washcloth in my freezer. I put it in a ziplock bag and it freezes real nice. You can bend it to match the shape of your forehead, neck or the area over your eyes real easily. In a pinch you can also use frozen peas or corn. Don't laugh, I've even had doctors recommend those two alternatives to ice packs. They mold to the human body real easily. Hope that helps. Guest guest
I agree with the script price. Un real. My DRS. nurse is the one who write my meds out but I still get same bill as if I see DR. I need to hollow about this next time. That would be better for me, but it still is bad when we are already suffering enough. The Government or our employers should have to pay this cost anyway. A wash cloth might help some but not much I don't think. Use some ice cubes and place in towel and use hammer, then place in plastic bag. Remember 15 on 15 off. I sure hope you find relief. Good luck and take care of ones self. your friend cookie
