It's hard to tell if your dosing is right without knowing the age and weight

of your child. My son is 78 lbs and is on 75 mg DMSA, 25 mg ALA, every four

hours, three on, eleven off. I know for our guy emotions are a difficult

thing to balance. We are chelating right now and he just got over a brief

crying spell. I think the process of detoxing brings this on in some kids.

Sometimes bringing the dosing down a bit helps. Also look at the supplements

you're giving. The answer often lies there.

We have an Evan too (almost 7) who did this crying also and we

attributed it to Evening Primrose Oil and some other oils that made him

cry. I eliminated them for awhile and then reintroduced and each time

found him to cry while on the oils. Also, when he had severe bacteria he

would get very scared and then run around the house crying as if in pain.

When I asked him what hurt, he could never tell me.

Hi ,

If he's in physical pain, I'd worry, and I'd look for a

physical/biomedical cause behind it. The others have better

suggestions on that than I do.

If it's fearfulness, some of that seems to be inevitable;

exhibits some extra anxiety too, I think just because his world is

getting bigger so fast. What a disorienting and confusing sensation

that must be; we're asking a LOT of these kids when we change their

worlds so rapidly (even though for the better). Some extra comforting

when he needs it does the trick.

I am chelating myself. I have had crying spells for absolutely no

reason that I can see. I am guessing that things were changing in the

brain because I had some significant improvements afterward. On some

cycles, I get severe headaches. On others, I do not. Good luck

figuring it out. Reducing dosages might help.

This sounds interesting.................what kinds of 'improvements' do you feel

in yourself?

The major improvement was waking up in the morning and not feeling

drug out or hungover. It continues through most of the day. I can get

by with only 8 hours of sleep. With this, I am having more energy. I

am beginning to get some work done around my home. I have a more

positive feeling about everything on most days. There has been a little

regression when my forever sinus infection became worse.

I've had that when I was on oregano oil too much too soon, some years

ago. I didn't want to take it again for fear of the crying spells and

feeling depressed all the time.

The body odour I'm familiar with that too. Be sure to use a natural

deodorant and not a commercial type with aluminium. That way the odour

will be less smelly.

does anyone go through crying spells depression and not being able to

sleep at night body odor etc?

Hey Lilly,

- I have these symptoms, as well as feeling incredibly tired, when my

body gets too toxic if I don't follow the diet, also if too much

environmental toxins. As well, sometimes these symptoms worsen before

getting less when I get back on the diet; in this last case, they are

die-off symptoms.

- I also have body odor, sometimes nasty, very acid at night; I use a

natural deodorant in the morning and before going to bed on clean

underarms... it works well. The deodorants I use are crystal rock and

another natural deodorant without aluminium nor propylene glycol.

- For the depression, which was pretty hard at times (though I knew it

was totally a physical phenomenon, it did not make it easier), as well

as following the diet to the letter, I took a Mindfulness-Based Stress

Reduction Program (meditation, yoga, living in the now), which really

helped, but any meditation and yoga will do; stress counselling;

reading good novels (have a break from feeling depressed/tearful,

etc.); proactive strategies like seeing good/fun friends, doing

enjoyable activities. If I had had the energy, I would also have done

outdoors activities which I love (cross country skiing, skating, etc.);

walking outdoors helped a lot.

- Re: not sleeping well at night. I noticed that the more toxic my

body, the less well I slept; so for a while (months), I was always

tired, waking up many times a night, and very early in the morning... I

just continued detoxing; then my sleep got better and now I sleep

really well (except if I go off the diet and my body loads up with

toxins again).

- Before bedtime, you might want to do relaxing yoga; or take hot

baths before bed (with epsom salts, or other); or do relaxing breathing

exercises when in bed; do journalling; meditate; drink a calming herb

tea (that really worked for me for a long while)... or all of the

above; whatever works for you.

So, following the diet, I would think that your symptoms are die-off

symptoms, which means: hang in there, Lilly; there is an end to this

and you will feel better.

I definitely feel like crying but realize that it is caused by die-off, and I

try to get through it as well as I can. I will shed a few tears, but I can sleep

through the night okay, and have no body odor that I know of.
