Guest guest
I just got back from having a hyster sonogram (I think that's what it is called - they fill the uterus with saline solution to better see where the fibroid is) Good news! My 3 cm fibroid is totally submucuos and on a stalk, which means that I can have it removed via hysteroscope - an outpatient procedure. I still have a 2cm fibroid on the outside of the uterus, but my doctor feels that it is this one inside that is causing my bleeding problems. And neither one of them has grown since my last ultrasound in the spring. After I have the procedure done (providing it gives me relief) I am going to write a letter to the first gyn I saw who suggested I have a hysterectomy (for these 2 relatively tiny fibroids) telling him how angry I am that he didn't offer me more options. I can't even imagine how devastated I would be if I had had the hyster only to find out later that something less drastic could be done.
