Guest guest
Brilliant . Also, welcome from me to all new members. Jane Hi Sandy and Info about web site Hi Everyone, First, Sandy, I wanted to say hello and welcome to the group. I also developed ashermans after a d & c from a m/c after my first pg, so I know how awful that feeling is (both going through a m/c and then thinking you may never have children of your own). Anyhow, I just wanted to say hello and hang in there. Like Celeste and several of the others have said, there really is hope. We are in our 3rd month of ttc after my surgery in late Jan. For everyone, I've volunteered to build us a website. First, I have to find the space/location - hopefully onelist will provide some space. Although, I was thinking it would be nice to register the name www.ashermans.com, if it isn't gone already. In any case, here are some ideas I had for the site, but I would love any input possible - thanks! 1. Home Page - Statement of Purpose (something like 'to provide support and information for sufferers of Ashermans Syndrome...' What is Ashermans? (brief explanation) Our Favorite Links (inciid, medscape, others?) Buttons that link to the following pages: 2. About Ashermans - more detailed medical articles, links to medical information 3. About Us - Group Statistics, individual information or compiled information, stories, links to our own web sites 4. Discussion Groups - Message Boards (Newly Diagnosed, TTC after Ashermans, Surrogacy, Adoption, Q & A, others?) 5. Links to Dr.s/REs - Those of us that have had good experiences with certain REs can post recommendations 6. Chat Room Each page would also have a small link at the bottom to an e-mail account for questions/comments about the website. There would also be a search mechansim. Any other ideas? I would like to start with just the Home Page, then build it from there - this could take some time ) But I could get the Home Page up by the end of June, hopefully. I also need to find out how to 'register' our site so that people doing keyword searches on various search engines can find it easily. Some of the keywords I thought we shoud use are Ashermans, Ashermans Syndrome, menstrual disorders, infertility, interuterine scarring, uterine scarring, interuterine adhesions, uterine adhesions, bleeding disorders. Okay - so any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks and I hope everyone has a great week, ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guest guest
Dear Celeste, Let's see--I do hesitate to put my age, blow everybody's mind and might lead to all kinds of questions, maybe we can get away without that part! Number of children is 6 (will undoubtedly blow some minds also), cause of Asherman's was most likely placenta previa, with some scar tissue at the bottom of the uterus where the previa site was (had c-section, but that alone probably did not cause it, just that it was done because of the placenta previa, and that was more of a factor in developing scar tissue). This developed after birth of last baby in August 1998, diagnosed in January 2000 after I started ovulating again but no periods followed the ovulations, just some pain. Diagnosed with saline u/s, corrected with operative hysteroscopy followed by estrogen and Provera hormone treatment for one month, which was followed by a period. Have had periods since. The Asherman's was considered to be mild, did not involve the uterine lining, just the very bottom of uterus/top of cervix area. Did try to conceive one cycle since then (last month) and this was unsuccessful, lining only got to 7. Will try again soon probably. Hope this is okay. Let me know if you need more info. Thanks for taking so much time putting all this together. Terri celjim@... wrote: > , > > This sounds GREAT! Guest guest
, I think you have just about covered everything in your email. It sounds absolutely great. One other keyword I thought would be amenorhea (hope the spellings right), and absent periods. I don't think anyone would have taken up the name www.ashermans.com because most places writing ashermans says no matches found!! So hopefully this will be our name. Keep up the good work! And if I think of anything else, will gladly send to you. I love you lot, we seem to be a great team! Guest guest
Six?! Can you spare a few!! (Only kidding) You are so blessed. Terri, did you say you were in pain? I believe Ashermans is painless. Am I correct everyone? Guest guest
Jane, For me, Ashermans is painful at the time of my cycle i should be getting my period but don't . It is just the cramping I would be having if i were having a period. But, ashermans must be known as painful to the medical field because when I switched Drs both the nurse and the Dr asked how much pain I have with it. Maybe when the adhesions have time to get tougher as time passes (mine are quite fresh since my d and c in 11/99) they cause more discomfort. Just a guess! I am having a hard time keeping everyone straight with all of our members! Maybe when all the profiles are submitted they could be posted to the group so we could print them out and refer to them when reading emails!
