Hi Everyone,

My name is Garry Lund. Me and my wife, , have a child, ,

who was diagnosed ASD at the age of 2 1/2. I have documented just

under 500 mcg of Ethyl Mercury exposure before the age of 2.

met all developmental milestones up to the age of 18 months. At 18

months, he had three words, ma-ma, da-da and ba-ba. These words

disappeared within 3 months. By the time he was diagnosed, had

lost almost all eye contact, sounds and would spend most of his time

crawling around the perimeter of our living room. When he would

watch TV, there was just a blank stare with almost no emotion. Even

though he was in day care, he would not interact with the other kids.

After being diagnosed, I started on a regiment of vitamins,

amino acids and essential fatty acids. He also started Nystatin at

this time. These all helped start to recover some of the ground

that was lost, and his eye contact got much better after using

natural A & D from cod liver oil, but he was still at a standstill

developmentally. All the supplements seemed to help, but I had the

feeling that they were just treating the symptoms, not the root

problem. had terrible PST problems, where he would get bright

red ears and sweat constantly. His favorites, Apple Juice and

Bananas, didn't help much. All my research led me to suspect mercury

toxicity as the root of all these problems. Our Kaiser MD was no

help at all, so we decided to find a DAN doctor to do the treatment.

is 32 pounds, and we do the DAN protocol, which is 150 mg DMSA

and 25 mg ALA every 8 hours, 3 days on and 11 off. On the first

round he had some hyperactivity during the chelation, and some minor

regression for a couple of days after the first round, but nothing

that concerned us. The next three rounds went very well, with

significant gains after each round. He is much happier when he is

on. We got the lab results from the first round, and he showed

detectable levels of Arsenic, Lead, Cadmium, Uranium, and Nickel, a

high level of Mercury, 4.7 with a reference range of 0 - 3, and Tin

with a 130 with a reference range of 0 - 6. We are still waiting for

the results of the third round.

As for progress, After the first round, he started to make more

sounds and some of his sideways vision problems improved. He also

started to play with his toys more appropriatly.

After round number 2, he started to shake his head no when you asked

him a question. After 3 years of trying to guess what he wants, this

was great. Eye contact also improved. He was playing with more toys

correctly, and was starting to engage in some imaginary play with

us. He has a little cooking set, and I asked him to feed his Barney

doll, and he did. The best part is when he does these things on his

own. I will be sitting on the couch and he will come feed me now. I

will say that Barney is also hungry, and he will go feed him.

After round number 3, a lot more language and sound. He has stopped

spinning pan lids and plays with his toys a lot more. When he

watches TV know, he smiles and laughs at all the right spots. He is

so much more aware and happier. All his teachers can't believe how

well he is doing, and he is starting to interact more with kids at

day care.

And on the last day of round 4, today, he did the most amazing thing

I have heard him do. He has been practicing a lot of sounds but

still didn't have any words. I had been hearing the word " two " but I

just thought that it was just a sound. We were reading a book and he

pointed to the number 2 at the bottom of the book and said " two " . He

did it again on page 5. This is the first time that he has spoken a

real word for well over a year, and the first time he has ever

labeled anything.

Can't wait for round 5 :)

Garry:

This was a fabulous story!! It really touched my heat. Thank you for

sharing it and continued success with your son's recovery. :)

P.S.: Regarding speech- we saw a noticable leap forward in this area with my

son when we put him on a supplement called " DMAE. " You can get this at the

health food store and we still use it, along with chelation.

Wow, Garry! What a great experience for you! Every child that is coming

back is such a joy! I just wish the FDA/CDC people could read all these

stories!

Congratulations Garry :) That is such exciting news. You could almost

get a crick in your neck from whipping your head around to stare at

the latest astonishing thing your kid has done -- hurt me with THAT

problem any day :)

Garry and , I am so happy to hear of the progress your child is

making.

I did want to let you know that my son's neurologist at Kaiser Permanente,

(Los Angeles area) has accepted the Mercury theory and is prescribing

Chemet

(DMSA) and I purchase it in the Kaiser pharmacy for $10.00 a bottle. That

is a

huge savings from what it costs without insurance coverage. Email me

privately

for further details if you wish. Aly tafa@... Best Wishes

Congratulation Garry and ! This is such a " BIG " deal. I remember when

Jon first said " mommy " after 3 years of not talking. It's a wonderful

feeling. Enjoy!

I'm rejoicing for you.
