Guest guest
Impaled man (pipe through vehicle) - So it happens elsewhere. We had a very similiar event in our system a few years ago with a lady through a pipe fence. A pipe through the engine compartment, through the firewall, through her, and out of the trunk. But what else is there? Local fire crew cuts the pipe off with a saw (however, a very delicate procedure), she's taken in with the pipe in her chest, and she survived & did well. I'm not sure what else anyone can say can be done, although having a surgeon either flown or driven to the scene is one consideration (it obviously will be a fairly long on-scene time). I hope with that case they took pictures & got a patient release. Don Elbert ETMC-EMS Education Coordinator Tyler >>> lems227@... 06/24/01 05:09PM >>> Does anybody know about this call? Guest guest
Don: Why would they need a patient release? An accident scene is public domain. B. Guest guest
Take my word for it, I am on the EMS service that responded to that call, and straight from the man's mouth said and I quote " the Ozona personnel really impressed me, never have I seen such professionalism " I myself was not on the call but heard they did one heck of a job. Can only say that we have an excellent service here and am proud to be a part of it!! -EMT Intermediate CCEMS
