Poly,

said what I was going to say regarding medical records. I requested

all my records from all of the surgeries I have had including my c-section

and have them in a personal file at home.

/ Celeste,

I have already requested from the hospital my hospital stay history for which they have sent me but it does not include a lot of the detail I require.

Re: Hospital Íïtes

Poly, I ahve no idea what that type of delivery is but the other suresounds like a D & C. In this country we have the right to request (inwriting) all records, nurses notes, tests results etc from our doctorsand hospitals, is that an option for you. Hi Poly and everyone

I am back from my weeks holiday and just wanted to say hello to everyone.

Poly evacuation of the uterus is a D & C. You are entitled to see your hospital notes and as you know I have to pay to see mine. I had to put it in writing to the Medical Records Dept.

I a

Hospital Íïtes

When I went in hospital last week, I saw my file and tried to copy down some notes from it. It said that the type of delivery I had was called Brand and s. Anyone have any idea what this is?? I could not find anything on the net about this. Also it mention that I had evacuation of the uterus. There are lots of things found on this on the net and I am trying to find out if this is any different from D & C. Anyone have any clues??

Two opinions are a very good step! Tell Dr. Berger that you are a member of

this group with me. He will answer ANY question for you and give you as much

information as possible. When he knows his patients are well informed and

inquisitive, he tends to talk more.

-Poly,

I talked to the OB/GYN I work for and he has never heard of a Brand

& s delivery. Sorry I couldn't get an answer for you. I also

asked him if scar tissue and adhesions were the same thing and he

said yes. Also, I had a D & E when I got my ashermans, he said that a

D & E is usually done when it is a pregnancy related problem, and a D & C

when it is another problem. Just that a different utensil is used

for each one. Don't know if this information helps anyone, but I

just thought I let you know.

I have an appt tomorrow with my RE that did my first hysterscopy and

then I go see Dr. Berger on July 28. Just thought I would get two

opinions on the situation.

-Celeste,

If you don't mind me asking, how much was your surgery w/ Dr.

Berger? Does it have to be paid all up front before the procedure?

He charged $5,000.00 total. This includes everything. All anesthesia, meds,

pre-op and post op apt.s etc. It is not like a hospital where you get a list

of charges for everything and then the surgeon's fee and then the

anesthesiologist's fee etc.

He runs his own surgical center which is in the building next door to his

office. You will be prepped by his nurses and he will see you before and

after surgery. Make sure your insurance company knows that this is NOT

fertility treatment but necessary medical treatment. The only problem I had

with insurance is that they used the " above reasonable cost " excuse and

didn't pay the full 80% that they were supposed to. This happened because

Dr. Berger was not in-network but I didn't care because I felt he was the

best choice for my treatment.

Hope this helps.

Dear ,

Thanks for the information. I will have to ask the hospital myself next time I go about the Brand and s. perhaps I read it wrong!! So scar tissue and adhesions are the same thing?? Ok fair enough. that changes something on my excel chart.

Good luck tomorrow at your appointment. What are you planning to go for??

-Poly,

I am just going for a consultation to see if this doctor thinks

another surgery will help me and to find out if this type of surgery

is out of his league.
