Guest guest
Akiba, what are the Vax regs in WV? I could look, but am feeling too lazy. LOL Is it medical and Religious only? AZ has all three and I've been glad for that... Medical, Religious, Philosophical. As all should. Okay, so I don't think we should need any, but that's a soapbox I'm keeping under my washer for now. LOLOL CPS / DSS workers often may not know the regs in their state or how they apply to individuals. Here in AZ I know some who have felt it was medical neglect, they have a right and duty to get the kid/s vaxed when they come in (not necessarily taking custody, just being called out I guess), and so on. Not at all. It's unfortunate when professionals who are in a position of dealing with children and famileis (including docs and teachers and and and) don't have a better idea. It could make their lives much easier. LOL Okay, had to go look to satisfy the immediate curiousity. LOL (http://www.909shot.com/state-site/state-exemptions.htm) OMGoodness, it only shows Medical. I feel my soapbox tugging at my ankle! LOLOL Signing off.... Guest guest
Arizona does have good regulations on vaccinations as well as on homeschooling. Unfortunately, as Challis says, there are those in Child Protective Services and the Health Dept. who don't understand that people have choices by law. And I won't get on MY soapbox. Guest guest
As a polio survivor with post-polio syndrome, I have mixed feelings about the current vaccines. Most chil dren's vaccines no longer have thimerisol ( a form of mercury) in them, which is the agent thought to precipi tate autism and similar spectrum disorders. Small pox has always been discouraged in children and adults with eczemea, and except for the military is no longer required of school children. And NO ONE who has a known allergy to egg yolk should take the influenza faccines at any time. I would prefer that thimerisol be removed from ALL vaccines, thereby probably making MOST of them safe for MOST people. In Cali fornia, all one has to do is give a religious, medical or philosophical objection in writing and one does NOT have to have one's child vaccinated. For adults, here, a statement of, "No, thank you," suffices, though the physician may ask why, but will NOT argue with the patient of the patient's parents. I do know that it is si milar in Oregon as well. Cheers! love to all on our list, and all our kids, n Introduction> > > Hello everyone,> > My name is Peggy and I am a soon to be 40 year old> stay at home mother > to 2 children, , 16 and Zack, 4.
