Guest guest
Sharon, I take Provigil, at least I have for a month and a half. It's an interesting drug, on one hand it makes me jumpy but on the other it makes me giddy. Whether it manages fatigue I'll let you know in a few weeks when I get back to teaching. I can't tell much in the summer, I'm too busy chillin' in the air conditioning. I won't be doing that much longer that's for sure! Guest guest
Thanks for your opinion. I had wondered because the NMSS page has some negatives to report. It says there was a trial in 2005 (I think) that showed no difference from Provigil and a placebo. How long have been on it? How often do you take it and how much do you take? I've heard that some people take it only in the morning but that others take it twice a day. How are you doing Gail? How's MS treating you these days? Guest guest
I used to take Provigil. But on my new ins it's a tier 3 and $50 so couldn't afford it. It also made me jittery I'm learning now. I felt hyper after taking it but now I take Amantadine and I can tell a big difference. Good difference. The Amantadine does not make me hyper, antsy or jittery. I feel alert and don't get tired. But each med may effect everyone differently too. Good luck, ShirleySharon Marsden wrote: I'm wondering about Provigil. Or something for fatigue. What do you use and how do you feel? Guest guest
Sharon, It really makes a difference for me. I have been on it about 6 months. My Neuro was really weird about giving it to me for more than 2 months at a time., so I went to my GP and told him the difference it makes for me. He is just terrific and gave me a 12 month refill. I take 200 mg. once a day in the morning. HUMMMMM..he L I S T E N S to me! I work 10 hours a day in my Child Care Center and before Provigil by lunch time my legs were too heavy to move! My daughter works with me and she sees a difference, too. I am very blessed, the MS Just makes me fubar sometimes with speech (DUH) and my legs are numb from the knees down (which is almost good in my profession..crumb crunchers on my toes all the time). My vision in my left eye is weird and I tend to stagger like a drunk. I know, however...that others have it so difficult and I am really blessed. PEACE.. Guest guest
I agree, Shirley! I took Effexor for depression and BOYOBOY I didn't like it! I understand that Phentermine works well, also and is cheaper than Provigil. Peace.. Gail

Guest guest
Hi Sharon, I'm Back YAY!!!! I finally got moved and getting settled in and trying to catch up on everything with my website and newsletter.... I tried Provigil awhile back before I started LDN and it made me have Anxiety Attacks so stopped taking it but since I have been on the LDN I don't have the fatigue I use to. Before LDN I would have to take a nap everyday to make it through but since LDN I don't. Always, Crystal Sharon Marsden wrote: I'm wondering about Provigil. Or something for fatigue. Guest guest
The amantadine is tier one for me, so $10. I was going to look it up on my ins but the site is down for maintenance. Provigil I guess isn't a generic while the amantadine is. ShirleySharon Marsden wrote: How much is the amantadine? Guest guest
I take a vitamin supplement (Rhodiola Rosea) which helps tremendously. I'm on enough meds already & can't really afford to keep adding ones to the list. E. Colorado --- Sharon Marsden wrote: > I'm wondering about Provigil. Or something for > fatigue. Guest guest
You are the first person I've known that takes Rhodiola Rosea besides me! That makes me really happy because I wondered if it worked for others besides myself. E. Colorado --- Akiba wrote: > I take amantadine. Does very little, but every > little bit helps!! Guest guest
It does. I take mine in the early evening, though, at about the time all the others are wearing off, it gives me the energy to make AND EAT dinner! Before there were many many times I would make dinner but be too wiped to eat it myself! Now I have no problem, and since I am a bit of a night owl it wears off in time to go to sleep. Guest guest
So funny this question was asked. My neuro wants to try Provigil on me to see if it will help my concentration. He's allowing me to stay on the Strattera for my bladder. I'm kinda nervous to be on an anti depressant, a ADD med and now provigil but I guess I will give it a try. I'm so desperate for some form of concentration and an improvement in my short term memory that I will try anything. Mindy > > I'm wondering about Provigil. Or something for > > fatigue.
