Guest guest
The same exact thing happened to me, but after having withdrawn and had a couple of RAI doses over the years I knew as the week went on I getting more hypo, and also knew I couldn't go another week or two because I might die or end up in the mental ward of the hospital. I insisted (argued) that I have another blood test before they cancel me. My blood work was done a Wed. for a Mon. RAI, Mon. AM I'm argueing for the bloodwork and guess what, it had jumped like a rocket in those 4 days and they admitted me. My dr. says " soooo you made a liar out of me " . The other thing I've learned over the years....when they give you the paperwork to go to the lab and get bloodwork, make a copy of it!!! Then you're not at their mercy trying to get bloodwork if you feel you need it done. As I was arguing with my Endo. that I wanted the bloodwork re-done, I was driving to the hospital to the lab with my copied paperwork and getting it done anyway and then went over to the Radiation Oncology dept. that administers the pill and explained my situation and how badly I felt. Coincidentally the woman who gives the pill has gone through this herself, so she could totally empathize with my position and went to the lab to have them rush the bloodwork. It's YOU that has to live this hell, and sometimes I don't think they (endo) understand how difficult it can be for some folks. My own opinion is they scheduled your bloodwork too soon and what does it hurt to have another one??? I was so desperate I would of paid for the bloodtest out of my own pocket and told my dr's office that...I couldn't understand why they were so opposed to another bloodtest and what does it hurt?!
