Thank you so much Jackie!

I never thought about the sippy cups or cups with handles. I am going to give them a try!

Hi ,….I use [don’t laugh] sippy cups. My granddaughters think its funny that Nana uses their old sippy cups, but really they are perfect, and I don’t have to worry about breakage or spilling. I also use cups with handles and I can wrap my hand under the handle around the cup. Ridges are a good idea too, anything with a grip. But, my favorites are the sippy’s! lol….

Hope this helped a little!

Thank you!

I know for me the worse part about my MS was giving up all the simple

things I was always good about doing. Since I have no balance any more I

can't use a ladder any more. My wife bought me a ladder a few years ago

and just looking at it you would think I should be able to use it. NOPE

not a chance. That ladder is used by everyone else. We have 9 foot

ceilings and we have 1 hanging lamp in our stairway and both my wife and

16 year old are afraid of heights. That lamp has been off now for years.

The heat messes with my MS so my son gets to mow all the time. We do

have a riding mower and I can still use it but only when the heat is

cool enough not to bother me. We went to Mammoth Cave a few years ago

and I loved going through those caves. We took my wifes sister Val that

time and we weren't sure about her going through the cave because of her

slowness. She did end up staying out of the caves these days. I have a

feeling she is always hoping I will stay behind these days. I usually do

anyways. My bladder trouble makes it so. I know things I can't do

anymore but I often try to find ways I can still get some things still

done on my own. I can't walk normal up our stairs so when I need some

work done up there I just sit on the steps and pretty much drag the item

I need up the stairs. It work for me so I do it. I do get angry when I

can't do something that is simple for me to do if healthy and end up

having to make a service call for help. My wife has learned how to do

things she never did before my MS hit me.

You will probably have the same effect with ridgy cups...you may expect your autonomic system...the system you used to trust that automatically know how tight to hold a glass, swallow, balance, whatever....once you start talking or watching tv or whatever, you may slip with a cup. Good luck...

Put rubber bands around the glass. It will help you hold onto the glass. Rubber bands work on anything you have a hard time holding onto.
