Guest guest
Spirit in the Sky is a good one! Good choice for your funeral. I may have to have my music at the after funeral get together though. If I die soon I'm sure Father Bill would approve of my music choices being played at Our Lady of the Snow. But if I wait (like I would prefer) then old Father Bill will be gone probably and who knows what the next priest will be like. My hubby Steve plays drums, and he played along to this song, and he was phenomenal! I wish he could still play. [sigh] When I was in HS he played at the local dance halls, and I didn’t know him then, but I went there every weekend, and I’m sure I must have danced to one of the bands he was in. Then after we got together, he joined another band, and we were with them for a couple years. Then he spent about 14 years playing in our Church orchestra. So he went from Iron Butterfly, Chicago, etc. to Maranatha! Lol….. Guest guest
I just heard the other day they are making another movie about Janis Joplin. Oh I think the lead singer from “Pink” is going to be her. I saw JJ when I lived in Miami when I was 19. She came to Miami University, and my boyfriend and I were able to sneak onto the campus because we knew some friends who were students there. She was dressed in a full length fur coat, because unfortunately that night was really cold for Fl. She gave a great performance, but she cut it short because of the cold. I was really sad when she died, I think she had a very unique and awesome voice. My kids like my “oldies” too! Guest guest
Have you ever looked at Classmates.com? I've come across several people I knew from school on classmates. I went to one reunion. It was weird but it was fun. Our school was really small so our reunions are for anyone from the 50's to the 70's. We had 1st grade through high school at the same small school so we all knew each other. My graduating class was 1969. I missed the reunion this summer and my best friend told me everyone was asking where I was. That's nice to hear but I doubt it. I think she was just being nice. The next reunion you should go! My grad class wasn’t too large, but all one year. I’m thinking of going next time. Its in 2 years, so I have time to get ready for it! Knowing the way I move, it will take me that long to get there! lol…. (now) 60's days Have you ever looked at Classmates.com? I've come across several people I knew from school on classmates. I went to one reunion. It was weird but it was fun. Our school was really small so our reunions are for anyone from the 50's to the 70's. We had 1st grade through high school at the same small school so we all knew each other. My graduating class was 1969. I missed the reunion this summer and my best friend told me everyone was asking where I was. That's nice to hear but I doubt it. I think she was just being nice. The next reunion you should go! Sharon (MSersLife Group Owner/Creator) It's not easy taking my problems one at a time when they refuse to get in line. ~Ashleigh Brilliant .. Guest guest
Your kids helped? Lol….seriously mine did too, but not as much as they should have! I was the type of mom that liked to have things cleaned a certain way, and thought I could only do it that way! How wrong I was!! Guest guest
How “jerky” was the jerk?? Lol…., I did the twist, but I wasn’t coordinated enough to do some of the other popular steps. Like “The Stroll”! I even took ballroom dancing, where I did learn how to “Cha Cha”,……..and how many school Soc Hops were there Cha Cha groups? Lol….none! There was a dance step to a song called “Purple People Eater” oooo eeee ooo ahh ahh ding dang walla walla bing bang, were some of the words………..ha, ha, ha,….. I guess you had to be there………lol…..but my mom said out of all the dances, I learned that one the best. I can’t even tell you now, how the dance went? (now) 60's days I love the memory of windows open, radio playing Mom's old tunes, and cleaning the house. Okay, the cleaning the house isn't the best part. LOL My Mother taught me how to do the " Jerk " (and hurt herself every time, and now I understand how easily that happens lol). She taught me the Mashed Potato, the Twist, and many others. ) Challis Jackie Hanan <rubyjaxcenturytel (DOT) net> wrote: My kids remember when I use to open up all the windows, crank the stereo up playing the sound track to “Grease” while I cleaned house! . I'd been listening to Simon & Garfunkle's " Bridge Over Troubled Water " tape a lot recently, but my tape player ate it. That makes me cranky. My Mom's music was cooool!
