Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Just wondering if extra hair growth, under my chin and on my upper neck can be contributed to all this Thyca stuff. Can it be because of fluctuating hormones, is there any link between the two? Anything I would need to do with meds or do I just keep going to the electolosist? Anyone else ever have this? Just Curious and hairy ) Thanks, Tracey )
Guest guest
Hi Tracey, I have very thick hair....always hair in the hairbrush. But since I went hypo (On week 6), I notice, no hair ever comes out...kind of like when I was pregnant. I'm curious to see what happens after the RAI and when I go on synthroid. I did notice I don't need to shave my legs as often either. TT (Pap) 10/19/01 RAI (tomorrow) 11/30/01 150 mCl (metes in cervical lymph nodes) Current TSH
Guest guest
Linn here: For years after my operation I had hardly any eyebrows, pubic hair or leg hair. The eyebrows I missed-looked sort of like Orphan Annie. But the other hair I didn't miss. Just a few months ago I developed a cyst on the other half of my thyroid that was left in but supposedly supressed. My meds were upped to a dose that I have never previously been able to handle and now I have all of my hairs coming back-profusely. Back to shaving and plucking and waxing again. I guess it is related. So now I have eyebrows, but also palpitations in spite of beta blockers and generally don't feel well-wiped out tired and faint feeling all the time. My muscles shake like crazy when I work them as if they have run out of oxygen or sugar. Also muscle pain all the time. Next endo visit in a week so I can find out just what my numbers are now. What an interesting road we are on. P.S. God Bless on-he will be missed. Linn in Pa.

Tracey, I had the same problem for several months following treatment, while my doctor was trying to get my meds adjusted. It's definitely hormone related! After we finally found the right dose of Synthroid and I'd been on it for two or three months, I stopped growing hair in unusual places (I found the moustache particularly depressing). Have you had blood work done lately? ellen -- mailto:ellen@...
Guest guest
Thank you to all of those that responded, it seems there must be some connection, whether we lose or gain hair. Ellen to answer your question, I just had my blood drawn yesterday, which is the first time since my RAI and starting on Levoxyl, so we'll find out how my blood levels are soon. Thanks again to everyone! Tracey > crar0007@t... says: > > > Just wondering if extra hair growth, under my chin and on my upper > > neck can be contributed to all this Thyca stuff.
