Guest guest
Hello! Okay, sorry to disappoint. I can't seem to find the copy of the letter that I sent to the woman, but I think that my friend has a copy (I let her see it first to make sure it was " okay " ). I will try to get in touch with her today. However, I do have the copy of the letter that I sent to her physicians: I received a copy of an e-mail today, written by one of your patients. I do not wish to give her name, nor do I know which doctor at your center is her physician. Apparently, this patient has been given completely incorrect information regarding the development of an ectopic pregnancy. She was told that an ectopic never develops past the egg-dividing stage, and no heartbeat is ever detected in an ectopic pregnancy. If this patient was given such information to save her feelings, I find this lack of ethics to be in horrible taste and perhaps negligent. I am quite shocked that a center which successfully attempted the first IVF process in the United States would give this kind of information to women. IVF was created for women with tubal problems, and I am assuming that a great many of your patients have experienced an ectopic pregnancy. Due to these circumstances, I feel the need to notify women who visit my website for ectopic pregnancy that there are physicians out there who do not know the very basics involved with an ectopic pregnancy. Please govern yourself accordingly and take measures to ensure that your patients are given the correct information regarding all aspects of their medical care.
