My OB said that it was because the did a D & C. Ugh! The second and third times, which were treat with MTX, they came a few days later and then about two weeks later. Screwy, huh? With the first one, I was already bleeding, which I incorrectly assumed was from the D & C. I don't remember how long it took for my next AF to come. With the second one, AF did not visit until exactly (give or take a few days) a month later. And AF was 27 days apart for 4 months following. I don't really know why it was dif these two times. I had a D & C and metho with both of them. My husband suggested that maybe it was bc I was spotting already with the first one. But I never asked my dr so I don't really know. Guest guest Posted December 23, 1999 Report Share Posted December 23, 1999 , The doctor did a D & C to make sure everything was gone since the bleeding I was getting from my EP was much more than just spotting. The next time 32 the next 30 this time 27. You never can tell what is normal for me. Although that first time around o time after surgery was more painful then the surgery if I remember correctly. Obviously they did not do that in my case. She finally sent me for an ultrasound and they found a piece of afterbirth in my uterus. The best part of it (if there is such a thing), was I lost weight like crazy, but after awhile, it got really bad, I went down to 105 lb. and I'm 5' 6 " , so I was extremely underweight. If any is left behind, it can start to grow again causing more problems. It doesn't go into a baby or anything, but it makes your body think it is still pregnant. If you have an ectopic, the pregnancy is in your tube. Do they go into the tube then with the D & C to be sure they get all the tissue from the pregnancy? That sounds really dangerous. One of us brought up wanting to adopt and I think it was mom who could not understand adopting when having a baby was still remotely possible. (Was it Angel). Our lady wanted to open her pants and show mom exactly why adoption was a better idea. Believe me I have done that. Before my dh's family knew about the ep, they were driving us crazy about having a baby of our own. One day I got sick of it and unzipped my pants to show my in-laws the problem (now of course I'm embarrased). But the looks I got cannot be described - eyes bulging. One SIL and 2 BIL were present at my unveiling - but I have not heard a comment since. In fact they are all totally sympathetic and supportive. I may have been extreme, but they got the message - loud and clear. Unfortunately as of yet I have not had a child of my own - but I am praying that this will be my year. I think my In-laws could really benefit from a show of reality.... they still constantly nag me about providing them with more grandchildren before they're too old to enjoy them. My point is, I gave them 2 already, one here with us, and one in heaven, and maby if they stop and remember the one we all lost, they would be more sympathetic.
