Guest guest
Please do not assume that I'm getting headaches from Sweet and sour sauce. Last night I made box chicken in the oven for my family, and cooked up some beef (a little boneless strip of something I can't remember.) I fried it in Olive oil after battering it in flour. Halfway done, I rebattered it and did it again. Still that dang chicken with it's yummy spices were beckoning me, so I took an orange, juiced it, as well as 1/2 tomato. I added molassess, brown sugar, 1 tsp vingar, 1/4t or so ginger, 1/4 or so garlic powder, some plain salt and a little too much cornstarch, and simmered it, stirring constantly. It was heavenly. NO FRIED CHICKEN FOR ME!!! My picky husband came home from a chemistry study group and tried it and loved it! Thought I would share that with you! I refrigerated the leftovers of it in a wide mouthed salad dressing bottle. So I can say with confidence: " I DO NOT LIKE GREEN EGGS AND HAM. I HAVE A LID, SAM-I-AM " I got rid of that cold I was coming down with. Happy day! The stress of preparing for the unknown hypo has been worse so far with any hypo experience I've had (only day 3 remember?) However, I do have headaches from time to time. Nasty ones. I got them in October every day. (surgury in SEPT.) My endo told me that it was probably the stress, and yet when I switched to Cytomel they quit. Well Monday they started again. I am taking the occasional tylenol (2) and drinking black coffee, which helps, as well as my rice bag. (If you don't have one, make one when you're not hypo. . .or buy one. It's just part of a hand towel, maybe half, filled with rice, sewn shut. Throw it in the microwave for about a minute and place it against your head, or neck, or cold feet, or sore shoulder, OR colicky baby (what mine was originally used for.) thanks for " listening " , Amy Meyer Cheney, Spokane County, Washington TT 9/18/01 Pap- 1.5 cm 125 Synthroid 75 Cytomel Day 3 Hypo/LID RAI scheduled 12/18/
Guest guest
I hate to be a stick in the mud, but as I am on this LID also here goes - based on the thyca.org cookbook molasses is disallowed, and as such, brown sugar would be taboo as well. I know everyone seems to have their own standards, but thought I'd point out what my LID contradicts. Good Luck, Shelagh again that was www.thyca.org and can be found in the cookbook section. Guest guest
Gloria, I will be 29 this next January and I was born in Biloxi, Miss. where my dad was stationed. My family is from the Spokane area and I have had many comments from people about the Hanford thing, but when I asked my doctor, since I didn't live down there, he doesn't believe there's a connection. I would love to see a map with colored dots that represent the length of stay for Thyca's during their lives. (Different colors would represent different length of time.) However, I'm a bit tired today, so I won't be contacting every Thyca patient today nor probably tomorrow. The map will have to wait and be compiled by somebody else.
