Well some people say Neurontin doesn't help with spasms but it really does help some. If it doesn't help you might need to go on something else. I'm on Baclofen for spasms and it does help.

Now for energy.... hmmm. I think I have more energy when I take B Complex. I feel better when I take Omega 3 Fish Oil. Eat the right foods for energy. Beyond that I just don't know what to tell you. Good luck finding your energy source!

Supplements???

If anyone sees this post right away, please advise me. Akiba, you out there? : ) I just bought B 12 sublingual dots at wal-mart yesterday. 100 tabs for like $5 or $6. Is this a good price? They are 500 mcg. How much should I take. I'm thinking 1000 mcg a day, although the bottle says just 500 mcg. I am hoping for some energy. Anyone have any other suggestions on supplements? Right now I am experiencing aching pain, feeling like my legs and feet are in a vice. My fatigue is extremely bad right now. I am also having burning and muscle cramps and twitches. (burning skin, and the deeper burning muscle pain also.) Any suggestions? I'd like to try a few more supplements and will look at Wal-Mart today. My Dr. started me on a low dose of Neurontin Tuesday. Only 100 mg 3 times a day. It makes me really drowsy at night, but not so bad in the day time. He said I can increase the dose to way high, if I need it. My DH is on

3800 mg a day. I also was told I have interstitial cystitis, which I suspected. He's sending me to a Uro/Gyno for testing. They'll inject a solution into my bladder via cath. Anyone have this done? Is it painful? What meds do you use, after dx with this? I do NOT want to go, but I am miserable with this bladder pain and urgency. So now, I've got Elavil, Neurontin, and Vicodin for pain, and a referral to a Uro/Gyno. Will I need something extra for smasms, or will Neurontin do the trick? Thanks for reading and I hope I can glean some info from you all. (I know I'm not present much, but the depression is really geting to me. Seems like the specialists just blow me off) Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Dr. also gave me Starlix for diabetes, hoping that my problems are related to it, rather that MS. Can ALL my sx's be related to diabetes? Trista

I take300 neurontin a day, same as you, but the Doc said I can go up to almost infinity if I want...I do Ok on 300 a day..

I also take Actos for diabetes type 2, and Actos is also being studies for MS, so I feel that one is a double-whammy...

And Yes, I am out there...sweatin' to the oldies but out there...

Peace and Blessings

Does it work for muscle spasms for you? How fast did it start working? I have slept so good the last 2 nights, that I feel better. I don't know if it's because I wasn't in pain, or because of the neurontin/Elavil combo that made me so tired. Trista

Hi Trista, I'd start with B-50, twice a day. Vitamin D 1,000, once a day. Both are good ideas for MS and for depression. Other considerations are SAMé. I can send you more info on that. St. 's Wort is antoehr one people use. Both are good for depression (and MS). Fish Oil, a good one, is always a good idea, too. Are you comfy with online ordering? There are better quality supplements and if you're okay with online ordering, there's a good site to go to. HUGS, Challis trista_abeloe wrote: If anyone sees this post right away, please advise me. I'm going to ask a very stupid question. And the reason it's stupid, is because everyone probably knows the answer, but me. So, I'm bracing myself and shutting my eyes real tight while I wait for your answer.

I have noticed quite a few times though out my vast 1 year experience of using a computer, that a lot of women used the phrase... My DH. Would that mean daughter's husband? Or maybe disabled husband? The reason I am asking you is because I noticed you used the same initials. I'm just too curious now to let it pass.

Sorry for my lack of intelligence.

Blessed be...Val

Okay now....you all can start laughing!!!

It means Dear Husband, right folks? I am not laughing. Sometimes I know what the initials mean and then sometimes I forget and sometimes I don't have a clue and won't ask. For example KWIM. I see that from Trista, right? What does that mean? I always think "I'm gonna ask Challis" and then I forget until the next time I see it.

It is not a stupid question. I say there are no stupid questions but MS has taught me that there ARE some stupid answers, most of them coming from the medical profession...

It means Dear Husband, DW means Dear Wife, DD Dear Daughter and DS Dear Son.
