From what the nurse said she was surprised I tolerated it so much. I was also told that they usually have you take some advil /motrin before you come in. This helps with the the discomfort. In my case we didn't know in advance that I'd being doing it that day. Once the nurse found my fibroid she immediately did the test to rule out cancer. Guest guest
I just had one and I was prepared for pain but really there was only a cramping sensation like when you have your period. Some people do have pain but fortunately not everyone and it went quickly. good luck. Its a precautionary thing to make sure its not anything more serious then a fibroid.. Guest guest
I just got a call from the doctor's office. They finally reviewed my ultra-sound and confirmed the fibroids. They also said that there is a thickening of the uterine wall and that I need to have an endrometrian biopsy. Has anyone else had this? Is this just yet another way to milk my insurance? Does it hurt? Jessie Re: Myomectomy planning > > > > Hi > > I try not to get involved personally -- but research is beginning to show > > that the hormones actually make the fibroids grow. Guest guest
I am a great big baby when it comes to pain, so needless to say, I was terrified when I had to have this procedure. I was actually in tears and kind of went into a trance from fear. But I can honestly say I hardly felt a thing. Maybe it was because God knows I can't handle it. Guest guest
Why don't you ask your gyn for a pain killer perscription so you can take this before your endo biopsy. When I had mine, I took a Vioxx the night before and felt very little. Besides, why risk the pain when there are great drugs out there. - Debbie Re: Endometrian biopsy? > > I am a great big baby when it comes to pain, so needless to say, I was terrified when I had to have this procedure. Guest guest
When I had my last US done by a specialist lab and a very good technician who is also a gyn, he noticed a thickening in my uterine wall as well. He, in my case, suspected an endometrial polyp. During the US he switched to doing a salpino____ (heck I can't remember the spelling of the thing LOL) but they inject a bit of a saline solution into the uterus which allows them to see it better. He did find the polyp. I realize this may not relate to your situation but it may be worthwhile for asking some more questions. If the thickening is just in one spot...??? I had all my previous US's done at a more general lab and they never even picked this up. Also, I was sent to this lab by a gynecological oncologist who is in the best situation to determine whether there is something to be concerned about or not. You may want a second opinion from a gyn onc. I don't know which is more expensive, just going through with the biopsy or getting another opinion on the US films. When I was told I had an ovarian cyst that was possibly cancerous I decided to " go to the head of the class " and see the best. Best of luck with this:-) Holly > > > > My problem is almost exact.
