Guest guest
Hi Tracey, I think I explained to you that in July, I stopped taking a majority of the meds I was on. At the time, I was on Neurontin - 2700 mg. day Hydrocodone 5/500 - 1-2 every six hours for breakthrough pain Oyxcontin - 20 mgs. 3 x day ** Elavil - 150 mg. at bedtime ** Ambien - 5 mg at bedtime ** Clonidine - I do not recall the dose **I am back on these medications now. I have an RX for Hydrocodone, but prefer to just take Extra Strength Tylenol. I also take Extra Strength Tylenol PM at night to help the pain so that I can sleep. It does work, with the Elavil, Ambien, Oxycontin and Tylenol PM, I get about 4 hrs. solid sleep per night. The Dr. would also like me to take an anti-seizure medication, but I didn't like the neurontin, as well as a muscle relaxor (mobic) now, but I'm at a somewhat bearable stage and prefer not to add to my current meds until it becomes unbearable again. A reminder that it is proven that you cannot become addicted to pain killers if you are in pain. It's when the pain ends, and you continue taking the pain killers that addiction MAY occur. For those of us in pain, the chance of addiction is very slight. I can tell you that most Physicians I've talked to about this have told me unless they find a cure for RSD, the use of pain killers in necessary. Whether you have one limb or all limbs affected, RSD patients need to rely on pain meds to get them through the day. Good luck, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I'll try and call you and see how you are. Hugs & Love, Jo

Guest guest
Jai, thanks for sending me your list of meds. I'm hoping by printing these all out and showing this doctor he'll get it through his head that the pain is real with RSD and help me. Someone had better before I go crazy in pain.
