Guest guest
What would you do if you won the lottery? Well, I guess to win, one would have to actually BUY a lottery ticket. In the 8 years that we've lived here in Texas, I've only bought a lottery ticket maybe twice, both times when the jackpot was really high. And then I STRESSED about possibly winning... what if I lost the ticket between here and the claim center in Austin?? Would it be possible to discreetly (sp?) collect on the winnings of a huge jackpot?? Would my children be at risk of being kidnapped?? Would people treat me differently?? Would I become the target of peoples' anger/jealousy and thus be in danger?? My hubby says I'm the only person who buys a lottery ticket, but is afraid of winning! In the past, I actually felt relief when my numbers didn't match! Well, if I wasn't in any danger and could be an anonymous winner, then I would use the money to pay off my farm, trucks, etc. I'd buy a huge tractor. Okay, my hubby is laughing at me.... we have a tractor and riding lawn mower, but I really enjoy walking behind the regular push mower..... but he says to keep the huge tractor on the list because he could use it. A hummer would be nice, so that I could travel across the US in comfort and feel safe. Even with millions in lottery winnings, I'd probably still complain about gas prices though. Then, I'd make sure to invest enough for my children. My son would love to have a career in photojournalism and my daughter wants to be a missionary, so they'll both need $$ since they surely won't be earning enough to live on! I would love a farm with more trees. just dreamin' Janet
Guest guest
Depending on how much I win, pay off bills, pay off my house, pay several years in advance on insurance and taxes, remodel my home, add outdoor relaxation things such as gazebos, ponds, and have a new workshop for my hubby with any and all tools that his heart desires, along with a new vehicle paid outright with several years of insurance paid in advance on it also. Maybe take a much needed escape vacation. Then if there is anything left, pay off my kid's college bills. BarbieHamilton-Feeser wrote: What would you do if you won the lottery?EMAIL TEXAS-STYLE!! Guest guest
I would pay off my bills. Buy a new car. Buy a new house (outside the city limits) Fix up the yard with all kinds of neat things. Donate lots of money to different charities. Buy presents for everyone I could think of. Set up my brother with some kind of investments so he could continue to do what he wants without having to work at a job he hates. Pay off my mom's bills. Probably spend the whole thing in a year going nuts. I hope I would be smarter than that but not sure. Levona QotD #56 What would you do if you won the lottery?EMAIL TEXAS-STYLE!! Guest guest
What would you do if you won the lottery? Pay off every debt I have (and those of my children). Fix everything that is broken. Let the older kids have the house to share amongst them but still pay "rent" so that the taxes can be kept up and the house maintained. Build a house to suit me on a LARGE parcel of land with a big ol' barn with a maple floor for roller skating and dancing and family get-togethers. Send ALL of my children to college if they want to go. Go back to college myself. Send my husband to college! Then I would invest the rest so that I could "work like I don't need the money!" ... tuck myself away in a cabin in the mountains and write, write, write until the end of my days... Ahhhhh... soap bubble dreams ~sigh~ Hugs, "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming-- WOW--What a Ride!" Guest guest
What would you do if you won the lottery? As soon as I finished paying Uncle Sam his share, I would set up trust funds for the children. Then I would purchase a small, easy-to-keep house on more acreage than we own now. Since I wouldn't spend much on the house, I would have plenty left over to help my church get a new building and the outreach center they want to purchase. Guest guest
I would pay off all my bills, my truck note, pay up my truck insurance for awhile, and buy me a little house. Nothing big since it's just me. I would also pay off all my parent's bills and my grandmother's bills. I would quit working and go back to school full time and get a journalism degree for sure! I would still want to work because I would be so bored. I would LIKE to say I would donate some to charity but I'd have to be in that situation first! Maybe I would donate a lot to TOPS for obesity research. THAT I would do! ! ! I don't need millions to be happy but 10,000.00 would make me happy for sure! L8R! Guest guest
In a message dated 6/13/2004 11:51:34 PM Central Standard Time, Oh my......if I won the lottery....???? There are so many things I would consider and not necessarily in this order: Pay Uncle Sam of course....then Take a nice long trip to England or Switzerland....Ireland...or Venice....or some place like that. Go visit Ann Brackett and go to PEI (Prince Island) Set aside some for my grandkids college Do some more add/on remodeling to our home Pay off any bills due I would donate some to church (it may sound crazy but I'd feel a wee bit guilty for buying the Lottery ticket to begin with) Buy a new car... Go shopping of course Make a donation to the TOPS Obesity Program Make a donation to the American Cancer Society
