Guest guest
Happy New Year everyone!! I went away after Christmas through New Years to a cabin in the mountains with my friends and am just now wading through the hundreds of list e-mails. Congratulations to all of you who have been losing and maintaining through the holidays and welcome to the new folks - I trust we will have a wave of new friends early in the new year!! I wanted to give a little report on my time away since it brought me both failure and success. At first I thought it was just failure until I realized how much WW has helped with my perspective on failure (and so many other things). I went off program the whole time I was away. I had planned this and left my journal and materials at home on purpose. I brought plenty of healthy food and decided not to sweat it. Well, I definitely didn't sweat it and ate my share of unhealthy, fried and processed foods. I managed to slip some fruit, veggies, water, 2 pt. and Pria bars into the mix and went on a short hike almost every day. I was feeling chubby and unsuccessful upon my return and guessed I had gained about 6 lbs. because I ate and drank booze liberally. Well, I weighed myself this morning and I only put on about .5 lb. It got me thinking about how I ate on my trip and I really realized that I did great. Sure, I ate some junky food but my portions were probably 1/3 of what I would have eaten at this time last year. It really showed me that I am internalizing a good deal of what I have been taught in my meetings and here. It is becoming second nature. I never thought I would be able to eat " normally " without really focusing on it and trying. This morning I am completely back OP but so thrilled that I come into this New Year 23 lbs. lighter than in September when I started WW. And even more thrilled that my resolution this year isn't to lose weight because I have adopted this amazing lifestyle change with one benefit of many being weight loss!!!! Cheers to everyone!
