Guest guest
Could someone explain the Activity Points on the WW Plan to me. I'm attempting to use the materials I have to do the WW on my own. Maybe if I understood the Activity Points, I'd be more motivated to exercise!!!! *GRIN* Could I count 45 minutes of shoveling light snow???? Thanks, Kathy
Guest guest
>As far as banking activity points, >>I think WW only allows you to bank 4 per day. >I understand about banking points per. food ... I'm wondering how to bank >points for activity ... I know someone told me that you could earn extra >points via. exercise ... but ... could someone tell me how? According to my local WW Leader, you may eat up to 4 of your activity points per day. She strongly recommends not trying to earn more than 4 per day.... but for those of us who are accustomed to a vigorous physical excercise program, go for it! As far as banking activity points -- you bank them to " use " another day. For example, you earn 4 activity points today (the WW recommendation is that you earn 2/day, day in and day out), but tomorrow you can't get the exercise in, then you've used 2 banked points; this averages out to 2/day. I hope this makes sense. So, to answer your question about how to earn activity points: WW offers a slide-ruler type point finder for activity points (similar to the points calculator for food). Depending upon the intensity of the activity, the duration, and your body weight, the slide indicates how many points you earn. But without an activity points finder, what can you do? There's a poster on my WW meeting room wall that says for a 140# person, 1 activity point for 30 minutes of mild activity, and 1 point for moderate activity. I've forgotten what the other weight-ranges earn, but it's something like 2 and 3, and 2 and 4 points, respectively for about 180 and about 210.... does anyone recall? For my own crazy life, I find it's wise to earn 4-6 activity points on the days I have time, because who knows what the rest of the week will bring?!? I try to get an average of at least 14 activity points/week. I find this is necessary for me to maintain my weight loss. Guest guest
I have to say I think it is absolutely ridiculous to suggest a person NOT earn more than 4 Aps per day. I've heard that a few times and it seems really odd to me...especially if you have a goal of physical fitness. I want to be able to do all those things I never was able to do when I was a flabby lass. I earn (when not sick) at least 7 a day, and often 9. I still never bank nor eat any more than 4.
