Well, I am on my day 12 post my myo. I still have the scabbing. I

will let you know when it will come off. My incision is about 6

inches long. The staples were out on the third day and I took the

tapes off on day 11.

Hi ,

I have the same experience as you with my long incision. After approximately 2

weeks it was just a pink line with a little bit of " crust " in a few places.

There were more scabbing where the staples had been.

By the way, I´m using aloe vera gel 1-2 times a day, and it seems to be helping

- especially with the itch.

Question about Myomectomy Incision

For those of you who have had abdominal myo's, did your incision ever

actually scab up? My myo was about 2 1/2 weeks ago and I had the

staples removed on day 5 and replaced with tape strips. The tape

strips were removed 5 days later (last Sunday) and there was a little

bit of scabbing. By Wednesday all of the scabs were gone. It

appears to be healing, but I just thought there would be a scab along

the incision for quite a while before it coming off and scarring.

Thanks for your input.

Hi ,

I think the scabs must have been from the staples -- that makes the

most sense. I am just surprised that the entire incision didn't

develop a thick scab. It's fine with me, but I just wanted to make

sure that this was normal.

Thanks for the advice on the aloe vera gel. I picked up some

Palmer's Cocoa Butter with Vitamin E but I thought I should wait to

start applying it until the incision is healed a bit more (maybe at 4

weeks).

Thanks,

Hi everyone,

Now when I have a second look, I realize that I do not have scabbing

either. It is just kind of a line around incision with a bruise-kind

of color. Anyway, I have got quite a bit swollen though, around my

incision and tommy area. How about you guys? How long the swollen

will be there?
