Pam:

TCOYF states that 18 days pf high temps indicates pregnancy. Most luteal

phases are 12-14 days, so only 10 would not indicate much.

The month I was pg with my ep, my chart was very typical - lows, followed by

a highs (don't remember how many days) but then it fell again and I started

what I thought was AF. It was a full blown period - heavy bleeding, crampy,

and (not to be gross or anything) clotting. All of that is very normal for

me. The following month, was definitely anovulatory - temps were all over

the chart. Low one day, high the next, then back down again - looked like

the Rocky Mountains. I was three days late for AF that month when my tube

ruptured.

When I got pg this time, I had a very typical pattern. Low temps until day

18, then day 19 and on were high, meaning I o'ed on day 18. I had 18 days

of high temps before I went to my doctor for a test. I did not take temps

after that, so I do not know if I went into a triphasic pattern or not., but

my chart looks something like the charts in TCOYF.

I want to say that with my ep I had NO cramping, pain, bloating, pregnancy

symptoms, NOTHING to indicate anything was wrong until the rupture. Even

that just felt like really bad gas, and I had no idea anything was wrong

until I started passing out. With this pregnancy, I had some very slight

red spotting over two days when I should have started AF (implantation

spotting on days 11-12 dpo), no cramping whatsoever, and no pregnancy

symptoms until after I already tested pg. The doctor told me that they

could not really get a clear visual on the baby to determine position

(uterine or ectopic) until about 6 weeks, but they monitored my hcg

carefully to make sure it was rising as it should, since this is also an

indication of ep. I am saying this to say that at 10 dpo, you are probably

not having pain from an ep, since the baby is still so small. Just try to

relax and see what happens (although I have had months when I was very much

on edge and afraid myself) and if you have any doubts, test. The usual

(average) luteal phase is about 12 days, so if you are 10 dpo now, unless

you have a long one, I would say AF would be due Monday so you could test

Tuesday.

I hope this helps you Pam...and please feel free to email me anytime...I

have been there and those nervous months are awful. Try to take it easy

until there is something you can do to find out what is going on. :)

My temps always look nothing like the book. I guess I didn't realize how

paniced strickened I would feel over trying again. I agree that it is

probably to early to have signs of ep. Well my temp has dropped that past

two day. I went from 98.5 98.2 98.. So I am really hoping I will just get

af now. The sooner I get it the sooner I can start again. But this is what

happened with my ep my temp started falling to the point I thought I would

get af. Then they started going back up. On day 18 I had the blood test and

my hcg was only 95 and progesterone 7. I thought I was getting af because I

also had spotting. I stopped charting at that point. The lows must be from

low progesterone don't you think? Although you said you had low

progesterone this time but your temps were high. When you mean high, you

mean always above cover line or they kept going up and up. Although I did O

until the 25th day of my cycle, or so it looks like. My opk never clearly

came back positive and I didn't notice any fertile cm, so I think its

almost impossible to be pg to begin with. I think I am just letting this

whole thing get the better of me.

Pam:

As long as you do not drop below the cover line, you should not consider the

temps " low " . They will fluctuate some within a few tenths of a degree from

day to day and that is normal. Even an occasional drop below the cover

line is nothing to worry about. It is only when you have three days

consecutive high (or low) that marks a solid change.

I have no idea what my hcg was when I found out I was pg with my ep...they

told me I was 8-10 weeks at the time. This pregnancy I was tested initially

at 5 weeks from lmp (last menstrual period) and 18 dpo with a urine test.

At 5 weeks, 3 days past lmp I had a blood test that showed hcg at 7997. My

doctor said that was appropriate and it continued to rise from there. I

have not had hcg levels drawn since they determined that my pregnancy was

uterine (if they have, they have not told me the results).

The only thing I know about clomid is that it tends to dry up and mask your

cm, so you might need to take some Robitussin to help matters there. You

can't really trust it to help determine your fertile period though, so you

have to really know your cycle as far as temps go. I have never taken it

myself, but I was supposed to, so I did some research and that's what I

found out.

Hope all this helps you, Pam.
