Guest guest
I had e-mailed Fox4 after that story had aired and got a reply from Becky Oliver. In my letter to her, I had mentioned that the delays are not caused by the public not pulling over for EMS, but that they are caused by the shortage of Medics to make the calls and the only reply that I got was and I quote, " Yes, we are aware of the shortage and are looking into it. " end quote. I explained my dissatisfaction with the story but didn't get the response that I had expected. Eddie on, EMT-P (from scratch) Fox 4 News Segment > For those that did not get to see the Fox 4 news story on EMS last night, read the story on their web page at www.kdfwfox4.com The only thing the article or story talks about is the fact that drivers are not pulling over for ambulances. Plus, it refers to us as " ambulance drivers " . Nothing about the paramedic shortage, pay, etc.. > > Very disappointing story. Plus, they used a transfer service to do the story on. Nothing against them, but they should have used a 911 provider for the story. > > Wayne > > >
Guest guest
You can read what thew said at http://kdfwfox4.com/navbar.asp?category=News I say we flood every e-mail account at Fox4 and tell them how disgusted we are with being called " ambulance drivers " . I'm pretty sure they would not like to be called " desk jockeys " or " teleprompter readers " . There are almost 1000 people on this list, I think if we all take time to send them a short piece of " CONSTRUCTIVE " propaganda, we might start some sort of trend. Please be careful how you word your e-mail and be professional. Our biggest problem is that we don't act professionally when confronted with issues such as this and we keep digging our own graves. If you don't believe me, re-read some of the BS that's been on this list in the last week or two. (It also wouldn't hurt some of use to use spell check and / or grammar check from time to time. I'm not saying I'm perfect by any means, but that's also a part of being and showing professionalism.) (Stepping down off my soapbox!) E. Guest guest
Did you see the " viewers speak out " section last night? They posted some of your letters and comments on the screen and played someone's voice mail they had left at Fox.
Guest guest
No, I don't know how to view it. I had just returned from the meetings in Austin, turned on the TV and there it was. They played a voice mail from someone, printed a portion of Wayne's email to them on the screen, as well as a few others. Sorry I could not be of any more help, but I wasn't really paying attention until it was about over. Guest guest
I'd also like to know what was said. Maybe we are getting through to them Re: Fox 4 News Segment Hey , Do you know how to view what was stated on Fox 4? Guest guest
Wayne, I did email Fox 4 to see if we could review what aired Friday. If I get a reply I will post it for everyone. Guest guest
What I saw on the news was viewers comments. The comments were that it was innapropiate for them to call us " ambulance drivers " instead of paramedics. It was comments around that line.
