Guest guest
Hello Listmates: This is my 12th round with my son Quinton (10yo 65 lbs). It is my 2nd round with 100 DMSA/25 ALA. Quinton has gotten a small soar spot in his mouth under his tongue. It is bothersome but not intolerable. Has anyone else seen this. I've not seen this before except when he got sick with strep throat towards the end of it. We were not chelating then because we were trying to get him well. The spots went away when he got well from the strep throat In Christ's love and mine...Jen : ).
Guest guest
Hi Jen, Personally I can tell you that I had the worst outbreak of canker sores in my life after I added just 25 mg of ALA to the 100 mg of DMSA. I was afraid to take it again, but I did and then I started having acne outbreaks on my face and boils on my behind. I posted to this group about the canker sores in April but no body responded with a similar experience. Also my psoriasis has gotten extremely bad. I'm taken the same supplements as my son who I'm chelating. So we get our Bs, C, E, cod liver, milk thistle, magnesium, CoQ, EPA, DHA and lycopene three or four times a day. We also take probiotics & evening primrose. The canker sores never returned after that one bad time and my breakouts are not as severe. But they all have started either while taking Lipoic acid or a day or two after. I'm guessing that ALA is somehow causing this. Jan << This is my 12th round with my son Quinton (10yo 65 lbs). Guest guest
Hi guys, I am chelating my 3 1/2 year old son and he has had persistent mouth sores both before and during chelation. I have been told by his doctor that it can be caused by a zinc deficiency and we do see improvement when we supplement. The doctor said give zinc on an empty stomach, preferably right before bed. Maybe the chelation takes zinc out of the body. I know DMSA binds preferentially to heavy metals but will also chelate minerals. It should be relatively easy to try it and see if it helps. Good luck. Guest guest
Just my thoughts, Moria may be right, this could just be mercury, our son has had big one after a round of chelation, and prior to that he had never had one. I also for several months after having a huge amalgam removed, with no percautions taken unfortunately had several break outs of canker sores all over my mouth, this went on for quite awhile. I have since started many supplements and have not had any severe breakouts, I believe if I am not mistaken Lysine will help with canker sores, Leah > << Jan said, in part: >> > > The canker sores never returned after that one bad time > >and my breakouts are not as severe. Guest guest
Hello, Our personal experience is the citric acid in the ALA. Our son has a high citric level and when he use to drink orange juice he would get canker sores on his tongue. We have since removed juice completely from his diet and now he only gets the sores during chelation from the lipoic acid. We are in the process of adding NAC to lower the citric acid.
