Then when you read it ... if it says sludge, demand a second opinion from a surgeon. Do you have an HMO? Peggikaye

We never light it before the end of October. I looked at him like he was an alien. Couldn't figure out why he was wanting to light it. (makes it hotter on days that are warm, yesterday's high was 86. Why would we want to light a furnace when we're still running the A/C during the day? Well ditzbrain Hubby (my interpretation of DH) doesn't bother to tell me that he'd watched the weather ... which I hadn't and we had a cold front come through .... woke up to 37 flippin' degrees. We had the electric blanket on 7 by morning, trust me ... it was a horrible shock to get out of bed this morning!!!!!! Peggikaye

I had my gallbladder out 4 years ago, yet still get those awful pains. I have both hiatel hernia AND ribs that pop out! (actually I have a rib that's out right now .. might I make a suggestion ... if your ribs pop out, don't hire a Seventh Day Adventist Chiropractor and have the problem on Saturday ... they ain't open on SATS!) I didn't know that it could mimic gallbladder. I've been yelling at my GI doc for 3 years about the phantom pain. He says there is so much wrong with my GI track he's not surprised. Once a year he checks the labs that could show the problem as being more serious, and have left it at that. Peggikaye
Guest guest
Janet, Please understand that although your symptoms sounded like gallbladder ones, there are other avenues to travel and investigate, so I would not expect the doctor to just say that 'it ain't so' and then move on without a plan. Other things to look into may include hiatus hernia, which may mimic gallbladder disease, and no blood test in the world can diagnose this - it's done with the use of contrast or a scope to take a peek down your throat. Other considerations are subluxed ribs, etc. Please don't be upset that the diagnosis was not a simple one, good diagnoses are ones made with all evidence on the table, so forge ahead and try to not lose hope.
