Guest guest
Hi, I also have outer uterine fibroids( I believe the term is " subserosal. " ) I do not bleed excessively, but have been in excruciating pain until recently. A CAT scan report stated my uterus is " attenuated consistent with degenerating fibroids. " The pain began shortly after a D & C. I lost 25 lbs that I did not need to lose. I just could not eat. A neurologist gave me a prescription for elavil which has helped tremendously with the pain. To answer your question I do not believe that fibroids on the outiside cause excessive bleeding. But as stated previously there can be other problems. . that developed for me.. Outer Uterus Fibroids and Internal Bleeding Haven't had much luck in discussing my newly diagnosed fibroid w/ my OB/GYN. He basically blows it off as harmless. I have mild syptoms:heavy (but short) periods, bloating, general lower back/abdomen pain, constipation, etc. I guess I'm lucky. He did tell me that the fibroid was on the outer part of the uterus so it wasn't causing excessive bleeding like so many of you describe (and my heart goes out to you). My question is, does an outer uterus fibroid cause internal bleeding? And if not, why? It seems that if there is blood flow to the fibroid, that there would be internal bleeding. Guest guest
Hi, I recently found out that I have a fibroid. I'm going to see a gynocologist in a week. What are some of your recommendations for dealing with a fibroid? Treatment experiences? Guest guest
There are many questions to answer before any treatment can be recommended. Have you had an ultrasound to determine the number, size and type of fibroid(s)? Do you have symptoms? Are the fibroids effecting other organs? Are you contemplating pregnancy? Treat, emt procedures include myomectomy, which involves removing the fibroid surgically. There are various methods. UAE places pellets into uterine arteries and deprives the uterus of blood supply and therefore shrinks the fibroids. There are pros and cons to both myomectomy and UAE. Let us know what this gynecologist recommends. Good luck. Margaret > Hi, > I recently found out that I have a fibroid. I'm going to see a gynocologist > in a week.
