Guest guest
Hi All, I am trying to get a filter for the shower and sink that will get rid of chlorine and fluorine, etc. Has anyone used the ShowerWiseTM filter and shower head as recommended by Willis's paper on " Phenol-Sulfotransferace Deficiency? " Can anyone in this group recommended this brand? What have you used that you would recommend for the shower/and or sink that does a great job? I would really appreciate your input on this. Thanks so much. Rose
Guest guest
That would be my question too - how do you know a shower filter is working well? Do you have the water tested periodically for metals?
Guest guest
Hi, I use a shower filter. Bought one at a health food store and one through Harmony catalog. One CuZn and the other Enviro-(something). I'll post 800#s when I have access to them. Both have worked well for me. Guest guest
If anyone has their water tested, where do you do this? I have not done this. There may be other ways? Moria ======================================== copied text, the context is a little off: =========================================== Funny, I have a brochure about DDI's water testing sitting right here! Let's see what it says: There is a choice of 3 tests: $129.00 comprehensive drinking water analysis: we will test 17 metals, fluoride, and pH $99.00 Standard drinking water analysis: we will test 17 metals and pH $49.00 fluoride level only The form to order the tests does not ask for a signature (except if you are paying by credit card--- and that is your signature). I don't see anything about a doctor. It says to email questions to h2o@... " Use the order form inside or call 1-800-323-2784 ext h2o to order now! " The metals listed on the " sample test results " in the brochure are: antimony, arsenic, beryllium, copper, lead, thalllium, uranium, barium, cadmium, chromium, mercury, nickel, selenium (those are listed as " primary metals " ) (then listed as " secondary metals " are:) aluminum, iron, manganese, zine The sample report shows the result (e.g. parts per billion) and says whether this is considered " acceptable " " caution " or " unacceptable " . hope this is helpful! Guest guest
If you're on city water, your water district will send you a report of testing done on the water leaving the treatment plant. If you want to test what it contains when it comes out of your tap contact you county health dept. They should have a special bottle and instructions for collecting a sample. When I had it done for work they had the results in a couple days and charged $14 to run it. You'll need to specify which of several tests you want them to run. Guest guest
I know its time to replace the filter when my shower water starts smelling metallic. The company I bought it from will send out a reminder card for those sending back the warranty info. Filters last about a yr and cost about $20.
