Guest guest
This is known as "migraine equivalent," and brings, if correctly and accurately diagnosed, the same light aeura as does an actual migraine. I have the aeura, but no head aches;one of my children has the exact same aeura, but has severe Migraine Headaches (yes, diagnosed by an actu al neurologist), swelling of veins on one side of the head, light sensitivity and nausea and vomiting. Imitrex has worked for this adult child, thank heavens--and the kid has LOW blood pressure! Love and luck, n re: Family MS and stupid doctors Dear Trista, This statement caught my attention. "vision problems ( color changes, losing sight in 1 eye for short periods of time)," I was having a problem when I woke up of everything being the same color just the shades differed and things looking like they were within arms reach. The neuro told me what it was but I have forgotten. Any way I started taking Bilberry twice a day mgs I would have to check but I got it at walmart. If I continue on the bilberry my vision is not a problem. I did not take it for a while --stupid me--- and the problems came back. This may help. Guest guest
I think she might have been referring to what I said below about “ocular migraines”. That’s how I interpreted her “this” statement. Guest guest
Sharon's reference to Challis's experience of waking up and seeing things appear to be red. My father, who also had MS, used to have this happen in violet. That was the "this," sorry for not having been more specific; I answered a whole train of posts and should have cut off the non-relevant part and sent the post with subject line more specific, too. Guest guest
I've had them, have had two lately, the last one just yesterday. I call it the "migraine squiggle", what I see is a pulsing, multicolor "ribbon", actually kinda pretty . Sometimes it turns into a headache, sometimes not. Guest guest
So, n, what do you think about what I said about my daughter-in-law, ? What Lynn said sounds very much like . In fact I read what Lynn said to this morning and she said "that's me!" will wake up during the night when it's dark. Everything looks smokey and red. (The first time she thought the house was on fire). When this happens everything looks really close and she can see things that are far away but they look close enough to reach out and touch. She can't see at all without her glasses so it's really odd that she can see so clearly during these episodes. She does have a history of migraines. Is this related to her migraines? What's your opinion? love to you Sharon Sharon (MSersLife Group Owner/Creator) Kind words may be short... but their echoes are endless.... Guest guest
Thank you n. Now I have one question Did your father's color go away once he started moving around? Guest guest
Mine look like lightening bolts on the side of my vision. Bright light jagged lines thru black background. Then my vision gets blurry like looking thru water. It starts from the center to the outer side of my vision, or visa versa. The first one there was no headache, but the last one I had a slight one. Even though I know these are not dangerous it still unnerves me when they happen. Guest guest
No, as he had severe retinal damage from one attack of optic neuritis, and as they did not have cortico-steroids at all until very late in his life, one eye continued to see violet. It did not help that he was red-green colour-blind anyway! (no relationship to MS!), love to you, Lynn, n re: > Family MS and > > stupid doctors> > > > > > > > > > > > Dear Trista,> > > > > > This statement caught my > attention. > > "vision > > > problems ( color changes, losing sight in > 1 eye for > > short > > > periods of time),"> > > > > > I was having a problem when I > woke up of > > everything being > > > the same color just the shades differed > and things > > looking like > > > they were within arms reach. Guest guest
I do NOT know whether this is even related to migraines, migraine equivalent, auras, whatever. But were this happening to me I would see an ophthalmologist and a neurologist--good ones--before I experienced that again! Oh, and I apologise for getting Challis confused with ! Fingers crossed (can still do THAT!), with love to all of you, n re: Family MS and stupid doctors Dear Trista, This statement caught my attention.
