Had to create something in the bylaws to compensate for it and now having to re-write and send off to for approval. I will ask though since the subject came up: What do you do when a member who hasn't been coming for several months decides they want to come back as far as paying their chapter dues? We have one that first of all her yearly dues are now due but she wasn't able to attend meetings because she started working nights (as in 7 pm to 7 am). She couldn't attend chapters that meet either in the mornings or afternoons because she would come home and go to bed. Her work schedule has just now changed and is wanting to come back but needed to know how to deal with past dues. Your thoughts. Sounds like a great idea, Deanna, although may I suggest that anyone who wants to share their by-laws post them to this list as well as to the message board that Melody created for us. That way they'll be there for everyone to see down the road. Guest guest Posted May 2, 2004 Report Share Posted May 2, 2004 In our chapter if a member has been out 3 months or longer, when they return they only have to pay 8.00. 5.00 monthly dues and 3.00 reinstatement. Our dues are 5.00 a month and we did that 8.00 maximum because we didn't want anyone NOT coming back because they were worried about the money. One lady missed like 8 months and she thought she was going to have to pay 40.00 plus 20.00 national and that freaked her out. She was happy about the 8.00!
