I must agree with Salli. I'm so sorry this horrid virus is at your house. I'm also sorry to report it stayed at mine for almost two weeks. Pedialyte mixed with 7up was fine with the doctor and it tasted okay enough to drink then. Fruit juice was out as that can instigate more diahrrhea...Just what you need right? Popsicles are fine if your kids eat them...JJ does not because they are too cold. I wish you lots and lots of luck and well wishes.

Guest guest
It's been on and off at our house for about a week and a half now. Hopefully <crossing fingers and holding breath> it's just about run it's course. I can probably use the 7up trick with R.J., but Nick hates soda in general. but he loves popsicles. I was thinking of picking up a cheap popsicle mold and seeing if they would eat pedialyte icepops. Guest guest
Thank you for your condolences. I still haven't decided whether to try to resuscitate any of them, or to let them all Rest in Peace, and see if we can find replacements. Roland did put R.J. in the regular underwear. Then left as soon as R.J. was standing in a pool, with out so much as an " oops " . Grrr! I know it's really trivial, but that is still the part of that evening that bothers me the most. He thinks pull ups are for babies, so he doesn't want to wear them, and then feels like he's not a " big boy " if he has an accident. I was really upset with his father, though. This is the same man who keeps trying to send me on a huge guilt trip, saying that I don't have the time to really spend quality time with each of the kids, and then, when R.J. is crying brokenheartedly, he just walks out, with out even saying goodbye to him. We all joined in. Nicky won the prize for the most ear-peircing scream of delight, R.J. for the most jumps, Robby for the most inventive splash (he was sliding across the floor on his rear) and A.G. for the funniest splash (he laughed so hard he fell down.). Actually, after the contest, and the mop up, I don't think my floors have every been so clean. (At least where the linoleum tiles aren't peeling and bubbling.) >GREAT! But are things any better yet? That rotovirus >is not that quick, >but plenty nasty. How is everyone doing? Salli I am still a little wheezy, but hopefully I have it under control. R.J. is still in pull ups, but he is willing to eat as many pedialyte ice pops as I can make. Nicky has decided that he is bottlebroken. I didn't get it the first several times he threw it on the floor. I got suspicious when he tried to flush the bottle down the toilet, and finally saw the light (literally) when he beaned me right in the temple with a well aimed throw. Afterwards he pinched my cheeks, shook my head no, and walked off to play with his train. He had a blast at OT and speech today. We've just started brushing and joint compressions, which he seems to think are heavenly. A.G. and Robby are back to being at each other's throats. I usually ignore it until about the fifth time I hear, " MOOOOM, he LOOKED at me. " , at which point I split them up. All in all, I'd say life is back to normal, or as close as it gets around here. Guest guest
> All in all, I'd say life is back to normal, or as close as it gets around here. , I know it isn't funny when you are in the midst of it, but your banter with Salli sounded so much like my own house by the time I got to this last statement I cracked up. I think it is the absurdity of it all that does me in. If I could make a wish for you I would bless you with a moment of peace, sanity and working appliances. The addition of virus free children would certainly be a plus also.
Guest guest
Wow, that sounds positively awful. I'm sorry. I do have a tip for the pedialyte though. Well, two. You can buy the iceblocks that contain the stuff. Then they don't realise it's medicine. Or the other trick, if the kids are not on special diets, mix the stuff half and half with diet fizzy drink or whatever. Diet, not regular, because they need less sugar, more water when they are sick. That way they are effectively drinking half water, half pedialyte plus colouring. Worth a shot maybe? Add the phrase " You have been good, but you are NOT having any more fizzy drink after this so don't ask. " Sounds more authentic. My kids figure it must be special.
