Guest guest
I also experience times when I'm so bloated it seems as if none of my clothes will fit comfortably. Sometimes it almost feels as if it changes from one day to the next. It's worse before and during my period, but it seems that some days I'm just huge and others, I'm not. It's a disturbing feeling, like you have no control whatsoever over your body. I don't know what causes it. B.
Guest guest
Yesterday I took my toddler to the park and a little boy asked if I was going to have a baby soon. My tummy looks pregnant with this fibroid at different times for sure. The boy's Mommy was horrified, I could tell. But I just accept that this is the way it is with this " bowling ball sized " Fibroid. I'm in the watch and wait mode, but will be getting a second opinion soon. Sometimes I just want this thing out of me, but then I think about how it is major surgery and that makes me wait it out again. Blessings to all! Guest guest
Sometimes I feel cramps, like my period should start soon, then it won't start for a couple weeks. Also, I, too, have noticed that the fibroid bulge is sometimes noticably larger than other times (it's usually bigger before my period and smaller immediatly after, which I've read is very common) but sometimes it gets bigger or smaller for no apparent reason. Something that puzzels me is how the size changes- is there fluid retention around the fibroid sometimes? If so , why? I don't think it seems likely that the fibroid itself would change in size. > All month long I feel as if my period is going to start at any moment > because of the cramps and occassionally I have more severe pains in > specific areas. Guest guest
I too can relate...I have sharp pains that shoot down my lower abdomen generally on the right side but low and behold they are also now happening on the left side. I would suspect this is related to the fibroid. > All month long I feel as if my period is going to start at any moment > because of the cramps and occassionally I have more severe pains in > specific areas. Guest guest
Heck yeah, right now I'm wearing all my favorite dresses cause I'm not lookn' pregant, but two weeks ago- before my period, I wouldn't have even thought about it- it's the matter of like three or four inches!!! I get major ankle swelling too. I get sharp pains, different from menstral cramps, along the left side of my abdomen before my period. I'm on the pill, too, which I thought would lessen these types of things, but alas... I'm having a myo in Aug, and I'll let you know if any of these are " cured " . I sure hope so = Holly > All month long I feel as if my period is going to start at any moment > because of the cramps and occassionally I have more severe pains in > specific areas. Guest guest
Hi. I had UAE in February and although my abdomen is much less bloated generally I still experience similar effects to what you describe - some mornings my tummy will look almost flat and by evening it will been rather rounded and bloated. When it is flattish it feels completely soft and when it gets rounded it feels firmer etc. I've just started my 7th period post UAE - my tummy got very rounded and rather bloated a day or so before I started and still is more noticeable than it was last week. I find this process is not always limited to the time around or during my period - it seems to occur throughout the month. I'd also be curious about what causes this - presumably if the fibroids are dead or dying they're not responding to hormonal stimulation. I wonder if the fibroids are expanding and then contracting as part of their death process? I often take advil when I feel particularly bloated - as I took this for 10 days after the UAE, as prescribed, for inflammation. I think it seems to help so I wonder if there is still an inflammatory process at work, even six months after UAE? I can understand bloating occurring around my period from fluid retention or simply more blood etc in the uterus causing it to swell. However this cycle of bloating and flattening throughout the rest of the month is more illusive and I wondered if others who have had UAE have experienced this and how long it continues? Guest guest
Hello Gay Thanks for your info re cramps, I appreciate it. As you said ibuprofen plus a cup of tea seems to help so much. Eight days after my myo I am still on an upward path. Hope your recovery is going well. Thanks again Sally
Guest guest
I did have some cramps post surgery--especially the first and second week, not severe, but I think it was the surgery to the uterus and perhaps it was contracting a bit like it does during a period or postpartum. Low back pain, pelvic ache, but a bit of ibuprofen and rest with feet up and nice cup of tea did the trick for me...oh and my trusty heating pad or hot water bottle. I actually loved the hot water bottle. The weight of it felt really good on the incision for some reason. And I tucked a heating pad around a baby pillow and put it under my tummy at night which helped sleeping on my side. Did that for 2-3 weeks. Gay Courter gay@...
