Guest guest
Hi Everyone. Yvette, I think you are doing a really great job of moderating and thank you so much for taking it on. I take the digest format for my lists because if I go onto individual messages my ISP starts thinking they are spam and I get bounced off within a day or so. I know trimming seems unnecessary to those who get individual emails, but in digest form it really is painful to page through tons of repeats to find only a few lines of new postings. Once (on THIS list) I got a digest that was 37 screens with only about 20 lines that I hadn't already read! I know because I copied it to Word and deleted all the repeated stuff just to see. I was intending to post a comment about that but just then the moderator mentioned trimming and one of the list members responded that she didn't need computer lessons!! Yvette, I salute your persistence in this matter and am very sorry that you endured a personal attack for trying to maintain widely-accepted good manners for list groups. It is completely out of order. I simply can't imagine what a time consuming, and probably thankless, job being a moderator is. ( I'm not sure if this is the correct way to trim a post. Hopefully so.) Also, I'd like to thank everyone who emailed to tell me about their LDN experiences. I emailed each person individually, but a couple bounced, thus this public thank you. Thanks, Jill
