Guest guest
Any Canadians on the list? I live in Ottawa (Ontario) and am having a TERRIBLE time finding any low-fat, low-sugar, low point treat items. I have been to almost every grocery store in our city and have had very little luck. Our WW location only has 2 points bars. Any suggestions? Sara I saw that Dairy Queen had some vanilla-orange sugar free cream bars that were 1 point. I stopped in to get some and was absolutely shocked at the price. A package of 6- 2.5 ounce bars was $8.88 and no thats not canadian dollars. I buy the health smart bars at wallyworld which are about $3 for a package of six of the same size bars. Even the WW giant fudge bars are cheap compared to that @$4.19 a box (on sale this week 2 for $7). Needless to say I left the Dairy Queen bars in their case. Guest guest
I also live in ottawa. Haven't even tried the WW 2 point bars, way too expensive! I buy low fat chocolate wafer cookies at IGA/Sobeys. 4 of them are two points. Sometimes I eat them on there own but usually I put 1/4 cup of ultra low fat cool whip in the middle for a nice 2 point snack. I really enjoy Spudz which you can find anywhere even Walmart. I portion them out as soon as I get them home and put them in ziplocs. Snack size orville redenbaucher (sp) light popcorn is 2 points for the whole bag. Fat Free fudge bars (can't remember the name-wasn't no name) fairly inexpensive and 1 point each. Delmonte fruit bars, also 1 point each. They come in different flavours, strawberry/kiwi is my favorite, also not very expensive. Sara McConnell wrote: > Any Canadians on the list? Guest guest
Hey Sara, I forgot to mention the Bite Size Frosted Mini Wheats cereal. I eat them ALL the time, 24 pieces is only 3 points. I eat them one at a time, sugar side down on my tongue for the " sweets " that I have to have with my morning coffee, they take care of the " crunchies " that I get, and they have fiber and are very filling! and there are like 20 servings in a large box, here they're only $2.50 a box too. I usually eat them dry, but sometimes I treat myself to 1 cup of skim milk (heated very hot) and add 1 tbsp brown sugar, and a bit of fat free butter, add the mini wheats & let them get soggy, they are 100 times better than oatmeal and its only 6 points, wonderful for breakfast or a lite dinner too! Guest guest
My husband was on Foodmovers which works if you work it but has the same problem of other programs i.e. too many forbidden foods so they end up cheating and falling through loopholes of the exchange program. He was slowly gaining back his weight and getting frustrated so he just joined Weight Watchers (after watching me eat nice stuff and lose weight for the first time in 7 years, he was impressed!) and the first weigh-in, he lost 7 lbs!!! disgusting... especially since I only lost .2 this week. And no, I'm not married to a younger man. He, too, is 58. Men lose weight so much easier than women- a function of faulty body design methinks since men don't even care that much about size and we women are so size obscessed... **sniff** A double fee is a hit a week true but I'm figuring he's going to reach lifetime a whole lot faster than I will and then, he'll go for free! It's worth it - we both intend to stay attending meetings for the duration of our lives! Time to get serious! Sue > > Any Canadians on the list?
