Guest guest
Anne, I had strange dreams, vivid dreams, and sometimes nighmares while hypo, on and off the Cytomel. I thought being hypo caused the dreams, not the Cytomel when they continued after I went off the Cytomel and stopped when I went on Levoxyl. Guest guest
Dear ThyCa group, Thanks again for all your feedback... and I plan to send my doctors and nurses thank you cards soon. I can see how things can get out of control, so I'm not going to wait. I had a question for those of us on cytomel. Earlier this summer my doctor took me off my synthroid to check how much my left lobe was functioning. He put me on cytomel when I told him I wasn't feeling like my normal self-- I was probably on cytomel for a couple months or so, until they resumed my synthroid. While on cytomel I noticed intense dreams, every night. I'd wake up feeling exhausted. When I stopped the cytomel, the dreams stopped! Now, since I had a completion thyroidectomy last friday-- I started taking cytomel Sunday morning, and Iast night I had another intense dream... It can be very wearing waking up feeling exhausted... Does anyone else on cytomel experience this? I have a appointment with my surgeon this thursday for a follow up to my surgery and I plan to let him know if my dreams continue. Thanks my ThyCa group! Guest guest
Bad/Intense dreams are not a reaction to cytomel, as far as I know. Rather they are a possible effect of being hypo. I have been majorly hypo 2X, both with TSH of 250+. Both times, I experienced extremely graphic, disturbing dreams, which I normally do not do. I have never taken cytomel.
