Guest guest
Hi, Why is it a bad idea to do 8 hour ALA dosages? I don't understand...is it because mercury would be dislodged, and then trapped? I am quite the newbie here. Thanks...Sally-who has done nothing yet, as I do not " get " it yet. I tried to search the archives, and couldn't find what I needed easily.(long day, and I am fried)

I don't understand...is it because mercury would be dislodged, and then trapped? The mercury will be dislodged, stirred up, and there won't be any more ALA around to catch it so it will make its way to the highest affinity tissue around - which is the most sensitive parts of the liver and brain. Similar effects happen with other chelators. Andy >I am quite the newbie here. Thanks...Sally-who has done nothing yet, as I do not " get " it yet. Guest guest
Whenever you chelate, whatever method you chose, make sure you drink bottled water and exercise. You need to move the lymphatic fluid to get the nutrients to the cells and also rid the body of the toxins so they dont settle to another area.Lymphatic fluid volume is twice the amount than blood. Blood has a pump-the heart. Lymphatic fluid has none.It depends on exercise. I recommend mini-trampolines for our kids. Cheap and works great...Joni M. RN Since I made a couple of critical posts, I thought I had better point out that this does sound reasonable to me, and everyone I know who felt they had to do something about lymph flow or " drainage " had a pretty good experience with it. Guest guest
Hi I moved up to 50mg when my son was 60 pounds and still do that now except I do every 2.5 hours so over the day he does get more than if 3 hourly. I kept the DMSA at 25mg he couldn;t really handle any more than that without looking tired. He is 70 pounds now, we do the same amount but maybe I should try a little more? HTH Mandi in UK We have been chelating with ALA and (DMSA or DMPS) for more than 3 years now. According to my son's hair test results, he meets the counting rules still and I was wondering how many of you INCREASED the ALA dose with the passage of time. We are still only giving 25mg (son's weight = 50lbs) Since we've been chelating a very long time, would it be safe to increase it a bit? Actually I would like to double the dose.... We don't have yeast issues.... I am thinking of trying this. Anyone else giving mg=lb like this? What are your experiences?
Guest guest
Hello Ashi I asked this about 6 months ago and Andy recommended that I should only increase the dose of DMSA or ALA if I was confident that my child could communicate to me how he felt. Otherwise I was risking putting undue stress on him. I decided to stick at my 1/2mg per lb of his wt for now. Of course with adults dosing themselves this is ok because they can play around with the dosage based on how they feel. best wishes Kay > Hello all, > > We have been chelating with ALA and (DMSA or DMPS) for more than 3 years now. All was well for a few rounds. Then he got stomach flu and his weight dropped into the 40s...I didn;t realize he'd lost that much until he reactd badly to his usual chelation dose. Clearly uncomfortable, angry, very irritable. When I lowered the dose again (in the middle of the round) he was fine. Rather than double it, how about a small increase and see how it goes? According to my son's hair test results, he meets the counting rules still and I was wondering how many of you INCREASED the ALA dose with the passage of time. I started with 25 mg ALA per dose, and 2-1/4 years later when my son was at the end of chelation, I was giving 100 mg ALA. So yes, I increased it slowly over time. However, I never *doubled* the dose. After 25 mg I think I went to 33 mg, then 50, then 75, then 100. Watch for increased yeast issues and other potential issues, and reduce back down if you have problems. Dana
