Guest guest
I think it's a good idea. Puts some personality to the person suffering this horrible disease. I will be glad to send mine in. Just let me know when and where. God Bless Re: RETREAT Hi Lori, I'm the one who wants to do an RSD quilt. I'm newat quilting but what I've done so far is coming outreally nice. I would love to do an RSD quilt for thegroup. We need to see how many people are interestedin participating. Basically I would like to haveeveryone send me a piece of material with a messageand their name on it to be put in the quilt. I wouldhave to pick out a pattern first then tell what sizematerial would be needed. It wouldn't be anything toobig so it wouldn't be costly to anyone. I will payfor all the material for the quilt. I just needeveryone's participation with a small piece ofmaterial mentioined above. Please get back to me andlet's figure out a game plan, okay?Hugs, Tracey--- Lori Testo wrote:> Hi everyone. Guest guest
Hi Lori, How are you doing? I wouldn't worry about precancerous cells as they are not yet cancerous. I had an abnormal pap smear with precancerous cells when I was 22 and it never developed into cancer. What I am saying is please don't get too caught up in the word " cancer " , focus on the " pre " and you can do things to minimize your risk of developing cancer, at least that is what my doctor told me and it was true for me. Now that I have had the hysterectomy I won't have to worry about anything along those lines! It sounds like you have been very busy working on the retreat! I would love to come but I can't commit to it yet. Worker's comp has assigned a rehab nurse to work with me and try to get me ready to go back to work. I haven't been released to go to work but there is no telling how my new doctor is going to address this issue. I know I am not ready to look for a job much less go to work every day yet. My leg is so weak and I am only good for about 2 hours before I have to rest. Outside of the physical issues dealing with RSD and fibromyalgia there are the mental stresses to deal with. I have been injured on the job twice now and then fired for filing a worker's comp claim. How many times do I have to put myself out there risking my health for the good of my employer? Until the day I die or go into business for myself I guess. I have some ideas for a home based business but wouldn't even know how to get one started. I guess that while I am rehabbing the shoulder I could do some research! Anyway, if I do get a new job in March or April I don't know if I would be able to take time of in July for the retreat or even for my family's reunion in New York. I would love to come if it is at all possible and will do everything I can to make it possible. All my friends and family are healthy and work and carry on with normal life. I get caught up in " I should be able to " phrases and try to keep up knowing that physically I can't. Then I get depressed because I keep thinking that someone " my age should be able to " instead of taking into consideration my physical condition with it's limitations. It would be good to be around people my age who are like me, with limitations on their physical abilities. Well, if there is anything I can do from Virginia Beach, Virginia to help with the retreat let me know. I will do what I can. Let me know what your next bone scan shows. Guest guest
Hi Debbie, Sorry it has taken me this long to get back to you. I did go to the oncologist last Friday and I do have bone cancer but they think they have found it early enough to stop it. I start Chemo next Friday but they say I should only have 6 treatments. They were very optimistic and so I am I. I will have to look on my papers for the complete medical name. It is in my upper thigh where the bones are. I am so glad I didnt wait to go. I know about collecting w/c twice. Before I got RSD I was carrying a box of saline salution when I was working at the hospital and twisted the wrong way and ripped my rotator cuff all the way through. Had to have surgery and was off of work for 3 months. I was only back for 6 days when patient attacked me and ripped my other rotator cuff and had to have surgery on that. Off again for 3 months. The hospital was not happy and I let! them pay me off. Didn't get much. Indiana is really bad about that. I would have to have more than half my body gone to get any kind of decent settlement. Thankfully the RSD has never gone to my shoulders. They hurt sometimes but not like RSD hurt. If I take vioxx it helps it a lot. I am so sorry for all you have been through, so much for someone so young. You are in my prayers and thoughts. I pray that you have a less painful days and an enjoyable Christmas. I know how hard it can be to think positive, but you know without me saying so, it does helpe all around. But I also know that you are a strong woman and i do have confidence that you will pull yourself up by those ole bootstraps and be better. God Bless you sweetie! Love LORI
