Hey everyone. I got my braces off on Thursday! It wasn't too

terrible of an ordeal. I am still numb on the upper so I didn't feel

that at all. The lower was a little tender but not terrible.

My husband was very generous and gave me the $600 it costs for the

Bright White bleaching treatment. My teeth went 10 shades lighter in

just an hour. Thank goodness because my teeth (regardless of my anal

brushing, flossing, water piking) discolored from the braces.

Needless to say, I am very happy with my results and have graduated

to a retainer. I never thought this day would come.

For those of you who aren't familiar with me :

12/99 I got braces

12/12/01 - I had upper, lower and genio

4/11/02 - my braces came off

And if it were that simple of a time line, I'd be lying to you. But

it's finally over with and I am so very happy I had the surgery and I

would absolutely do it again.

The only challenge now is trying to keep myself from smiling so much!

Hi Amy!

What exciting news! Don't stop smiling, you deserve to smile after

all you have been through. I can't wait to get to that point.

Congratulations.

Congratulations, Amy,

You had a long ordeal. It must feel great to be finished. Do you

mind if I ask why you needed to wear the braces so long after your

surgery? I'm just wondering because my doc says it'll only be 4-5

months....do I need to be prepared for more " orthognathic " time?

Amy. Just wanted to pass along my congratulations to you. I am happy

too to hear that your teeth went 10 shades lighter in just an hour.

I'll pay any price for that. The girl at my dentist's office told me

my teeth still look pretty white, but I know at the end of this ordeal

they won't be as white as I want them. I am als a finatic (SP?) about

cleaning (teeth that is). Also happy to hear that you are happy with

your results. Keep smiling!!! Donna

Oops again. Just redid the math and realized that you only wore the

braces for 4 months after surgery.....you'd never know that I

actually can count...

Hi Amy, WOW, I'm so happy for you and jealous at the same time! I'm

so happy that you are pleased with all the results and so look

forward to being where you are in about a year.
