Guest guest
Welcome back Carla & thank you for providing your story to the list! I think the information will be very helpful for others that suspect yeast is the cause of their vulvar pain! One thing I wanted to mention - You wrote: " I applied, (and still do) a thin layer of Vaseline to the outer vaginal area three times a day. This helps to protect the skin from outer irritations/friction as well as from urine irritation. I know some gals claim it clogs the mucous membranes, but, I personally have NEVER had ANY problems with it. I feel it has been a tremendous help for me personally. " I just wanted to state that while Vaseline appears to have worked well for you, it is not recommended for use on the vulvar area. I also have seen many vulvovaginal specialists here in NYC & they all said it's better to use UNPETROLIUM JELLY instead of Vaseline as a barrier ointment for the reason you mentioned above - " clogging the mucous membranes " which can contribute to a yeast infection!! Unpetrolium jelly can be purchased at most health food stores if anyone is interested. Warmly, Debra deb.leigh@...
