Guest guest
Terry: Sorry to read about your post that says patients receiving any procedure to medicate prostate cancer, 20 to 80 percent suffer from side effects with no remedy . With that high a percentage, what have you determined is being done by the medical people involved (if any) who suggest or do these procedures? They must surely know what will happen, and then allowing a patient to go forward seems like the patient is unnecessarily putting themselves into a no win situation not having the expertise to understand this cancer or initially how to proceed to treat it. I for one was a 'pidgeon' not knowing anything and with complete trust etc. seem to have entered the 'twilight zone'......losing weight, body muscle, aging it seems faster that necessary , in constant distress from side effects...and perhaps not too happy with the statements made (sic) "You will in all probability, die from something other that this prostate cancer, but not neccessarily from the side effects etc"., leaving me with the wont for easement from the side effects which seem to be the only healing done. I can only hope that the professional people in trying to heal us poor critters are not being too zealous going forward with things they were successful with in other patients but overlooking what may be a wrong approach for others. Bill. diagnosed Jan. 2007. Age 76, Stage 4, Gleason 8, metastis to spine, T2B (or higher) hormone implant, radiation to spine, pain pills and waiting. waiting, waiting.
