Guest guest
Hi, I'm set to undergo upper-and lower-jaw advancement in June, to correct my moderate sleep apnea. Has anyone out there had this procedure to treat sleep apnea? I know for sleep apnea surgery cases, the advancement is more than someone who's getting it just to correct bite/aesthetic issues. I'm worried that I'm going to look like some sort of ape-man after this, with an upper jaw advanced 6 mm and a lower jaw advanced approx. 12 mm. I currently have a significant overbite, which I guess isn't considered aesthetically pleasing, but an upper jaw that sticks out seems downright strange. Am I just being too anxiety-ridden, or are cosmetic issues a real concern for this procedure? Has anyone else gone through this kind of anxiety?
